why would it take both 1sts and a second? i'm sure both 1sts and a 4th or both 1sts and a player would do it. were only 68 points away from the #4 spot with just the 2 1st rounders.

Draft Value Chart

Team Points .

Dolphins 3,000 #1

. Rams 2,600 #2

Falcons 2,200 #3

Raiders 1,800 #4

Chiefs 1,700 #5

22. Cowboys (CLE)780

28. Cowboys660

DAL Rd 1-2 total value: 1,732 points

the Cowboys 22nd overall pick is worth 780 points and their 28th pick is worth 660 points, giving Dallas 1,440 points.second-round pick, the 61st overall pick, which is worth 292 points.combined with Dallas' first-round picks, would give the Cowboys 1,732 points, more than enough to get to Kansas City's No. 5 and almost enough to get to Oakland's No. 4

my bad i didn't see he added the 2nd round points. i'm sure it would be a player or 2 instead of the 2nd round pick.

shefter also said this though

Now the NFL draft point chart is not set in concrete; teams can use their own guidelines and decide whether a certain trade is fair even if it doesn't measure out on the chart

I am starting to wonder if the jets and dolphins will make a deal. If the Jets are as interested as they seem and they dont want to lose out on him to the raiders maybe they move.

Brian tannebaum and Bill Parcells are tight. Some kind of a deal could be worked with picks and players. Maybe the jets swap give a 2 and a 1 next year.

The draft chart is not as important as these talking heads try to make us think. I think you really need to look at the draft in the given year to determine value of certain picks.

Lets say this year is very deep. Meaning you can get almost the same quality of player at 10 as you can at 30. then the value of the 10th pick isnt nearly that high. Teams will actually want out of these picks because they can get almost the same quality at a cheaper price and pick up an extra pick or player.

So lets not make assumptions about what the value of the 5th pick would really be. Especially in a year where their are about 3 "franchise" players available. If that.

I wonder if Oakland would do that. They are in love with McFadden.

I don't even know why the raiders would want another RB.. they are still waiting to see what Bush has to offer..the guy looked real good in college. But i agree though, them paying Lj all that $$ is a waste.

When was the last time you saw a trade in the draft that included 2 first rounders and multiple players to make the move?

There is no way that Jerry, or any team with even a remotely sane owner, is giving up 2 picks and multiple players to move up and get one guy.

This came up last year too, ramp. IIRC when trading future draft picks the pick loses roughly a round's worth of value (i.e. a first rounder is worth a second, second is a third, etc.)

Now, obviously none of that is written in stone, but that was the general formula if I remember correctly.

I think the Raiders are gonna take DMac and trade us Michael Bush for a 4th or 5th round pick ..... or a player.

That will be the "surprising" way we get another running back like Jerry said.
