I was a bit disappointed in the Carpenter pick as I would have liked to have seen us go after Winston Justice or Manny Lawson.
Seeing an undrafted rookie FA (Oliver Hoyte) active while our 1st round pick will not be suiting up is not good news to me.

Even when you think you've drafted a stud, you can still get burned. No one is guaranteed to be a stud in this league.
Plus, is he not allowed to to miss the first couple of games? Or is it a law that he absolutely had to start, even though we're jammed packed at linebacker?
If he starts in 7 weeks after picking up a couple of inactives, and a maybe 1 start or so, and a ton of nickle situations, would he still be considered a joke?

Do we know that Carpenter is a bust yet? No we do not. I would rather he not be on the inactive list, but that hardly classifies as a bust at this point. Come talk to me three years down the road.
I bet you said Bradie James was a bust his first two years in the NFL as well.
Do we know for sure that your OL you were going to pick are not a bust? I bet you would have been all over Tony Mandarich, that worked out well.
