The Cowboys could finish 13-3-1

Just reminiscing.
The good Ole days.
12-2, 11-3, 10-4, and even 9-5.
This is what I would do as a kid. I would look at the standings and set my goals for what I hoped the Cowboys would do.
That's what made the America's Team. They usually did it.
OK. I thought you were saying it could happen this year. I did similar stuff. I loved those mid 70s years. Cardinals always seemed to give us a battle. Especially in old Busch Memorial Stadium--they would make us wear blue.

Yes, you just have to believe. If you wish upon a star....puppies and rainbows etc.

Its going to take more than the defense "believing" to fix that unit.

Check your pill-minder. I think you may have doubled up.

No, I am saying that if these Cowboys want to achieve greatness, this season is their chance to prove it's in them.
And if Dak wants to prove that he is worth $60 million a year, this is his chance to lead this team.
He needs to play well enough for the defense to know that he won't let them down in crunch time.

Do you remember the stories of the Cardinals players wearing panty hose under their pants to keep their legs warm in cold weather?

I have better odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot. I have more faith that I will than this team reach that record. :lmao:

I don't know Lee. Sending out the absolute worst defense in the league and telling the QB to overcome it--- I'm not sure that's a recipe for any type of success.

I think it's very possible that the Cowboys will not win another game this season.
I picked them to win 3 games or less in 2025, and I think the prime time games with Philly and Green Bay were mirages provided by the NFL.
If Tyrod Taylor had been the quarterback for the Jets vs the Cowboys, I think the Jets win that game.
But, for the sake of the fans, I am just pointing out that their present record leaves them with hope.

This is what I would do as a kid. Even in bad years, I looked for the silver lining.
Back then it was a 14 game schedule, and 12-2 was the record that usually meant the Cowboys had home field advantage through the playoffs, and were going to the Super Bowl.
Even I love the aesthetics of seeing Dak play well on offense and the way Williams is running the ball. Having CeeDee Lamb back to go with Pickens is a dream come true for Cowboys fans.
The defense could improve if they believe that the offense will be there for them in crunch time.
And the Cowboys have the best kicker in the history of the NFL.
So it all comes down to believing in the plan, and Dak performing at a high level, even when things aren't going well. This is his chance to prove he is for real.
Not saying it will happen, but the Cowboys we grew up loving could make it happen.

I was the exact same way as a kid. A loss would ruin the rest of Sunday and I'd lay in bed Sunday night thinking of how things could have been different. We were all very lucky as kids to have such a great team to follow.

Today's team desperately needs talented defensive players. They've proved a good offense alone won't win games.

I would be in a bad mood for days after a loss.
The world only seemed right if the Cowboys were winning.
The 35-31 loss to the Steelers in the Super Bowl was a very hard thing to digest.

And I could wake up and trip over something that is not currently long enough for me to trip over when I wake up. Probably not going to happen.

Aubrey and Anger are part of STs too.......Turpin isn't the best but hes solid enough to compliment the other two
Turpin actually was first team all pro last year believe it or not, so yeah, he is the best.

Our special teams unit is absolutely loaded. The league is quaking in their boots.

I remember the 1970 season when the Cowboys lost to the (then) St. Louis Cardinals 38-0 on Monday Night Football. I had a little black & white tv in my room and stayed up past my bedtime to watch it (got in trouble for it, too). I was devastated by that loss. Of course, I was only 10 at the time. A little over halfway through the season the Cowboys sat at 5-4. They ended up finishing 10-4 and made it to the SB ultimately losing to the (then) Baltimore Colts 16-13.
I never forgot that game. But, as time has passed I believe that game turned around our season back then. Of course, our coach was Tom Landry and he wasn't going to take that embarrassment sitting down or any other circumstances. But, back then we actually had a functioning ownership, FO and coaching staff. Fast forward to today's Cowboys, sitting at 2-3-1. We do not have a functioning ownership, FO or coaching staff. As much as I'd love to eat my words I do not see us rising to the challenge because reasons. And all the reasons always lead to one single point... Jerry.
