I'm not saying the phrase itself is holy or Scripturally based, but using that well known phrase, and substituting another name for Jesus, it's simply not right.

As for naming a son Jesus, I think it's a name that should not be used, because you know as a parent, you're going to at some point, going to have to yell out his name, either to call him, or to get his attention. It's not good for a common name either.

Yes, you can roll your eyes at me, but that name should be retired from use as a common name. It's a name that deserves unique respect from all others.
Why is it not right if the phrase is either Scripturally based or holy? Because you say so?

Jesus didn't even call himself Jesus. It's a Greek word. If anything take issue with the name Yehoshua or Yeshua since that was what his name really was.

You are free to believe what you wish, and preach on your own time, but this is not the venue for it. There are probably a number of religious philosophies that would like to make the same claim about their deities as well.

If this isn't political in nature, I wonder what is.

The letters WWJD are not trademarked for the use you believe them to be. Where that came from is unknown. If you can provide compelling evidence to the contrary, go for it. Google searches and domain names aren't quite the same thing.

If anyone's off-topic, it's probably you.

Dude, you're a step away from diapering goats. I won't go on, because this isn't an appropriate place for this discussion, but your stance hurts your beliefs more than it helps.

This is not the venue for disrespecting the name of Jesus, either. Or does that count?

You must have a major problem with Hispanic people who happened to be named Jesus.

WWJD is a pop culture reference that was popularized by Christians in the 1990s. Prior to that the phrase WWJD had no meaning whatsoever. It's not even Scripturally-based

Wow! I thought the original was WWOD (Oprah)...
This reminds me a little of the british teacher who was to be beaten or jailed for letting the kids name their pet mohammed IIRC.
Fanatism is not good.

I'm not advocating beating or jailing anyone, America is about the freedom to choose what is right. No one can force respect for Jesus on anyone, however, stating what is right needs to be done, although it may not compel anyone to change their views.

America was built by people who wanted the freedom to do the right thing. America is weakened when people do not stand up for what is right--freedom even allows us to weaken our faith as we choose.

Religious force is not an element in a Christian nation, Christianity cannot be forced on anyone. I'm stating it and nothing more.

Let JJ walk.

Re-Sign Barber, Adams, Hamlin

Crayton, depends on his price, but would like to keep him

:starspin I feel the same way about these players. If...Crayton's asking price isn't too high, keep him as well, although I have a feeling Crayton will want the moon though. Considering how difficult of a time we've had at trying to find a safety, and that Hamlin has been having a good year so far, I imagine we will do our best to keep Hamlin as well, plus the fact that Hamlin is still relatively young.

Ok. I'll say something different I guess. Find or draft a corner as you can never have too many. Draft someone on offense in a skills position (except TE). Can be running back or wide receiver, either will work, but the key is speed. We need someone who has Barber's vision and (hopefully some) power, with more speed and I know they don't grow on tree's. Or a speed wide receiver or we pick up that fellow from the Cardinals who is a free agent next year (wide receiver). The good news is we don't have many glaring needs IMO.

Being silent is wrong in this free society we live in. I've finished reading a book, called "the new tolerance" and it's become very clear that being silent while atheistic values are reinforced daily throughout our country is very harmful.

I said it to remind everyone that messing with the name is Jesus is not right.

It NEEDS to be said by someone! It's not excessive in the slightest.

As I said before, your faith in your religion and your associating the phrase with Jesus speaks positively about your faith. Certainly no one will fault you for that. As someone who also follows the Christian religion, I must tell you that I am simply not offended by someone using WWJD to describe something other than Jesus, especially when it is not known if that person was even aware of the association. At a minumum, a better approach would be to ask the person if they were aware of the association prior to blasting away. I suppose that we will just agree to disagree on this.

I'm pretty sure the OP knew the association

not saying it's a bad thing, because he's replacing Jesus w/ Jones, he's not saying that the 2 are equal or anything

If there was no salary cap I'd resign all of them too. But aren't you guys concerned about the cap? Flozell will require L. Davis kind of money. Remember, L.Davis wasn't even considered to be all that great and he still got a truck load of cash.

We will also be spending fairly big money on two first rounders next year. Romo got a huge extension so our team salary is not quite as low as it was at the start of the year. Just some stuff to think about.

By you........he clearly is our Best OL, and probably the single best signing in the offseason (moss was a trade ;))

we have over 20 mil. in space i think. We would need a helping of Adam in here to be sure though.

I hear you man, but seriously get off your high horse this is the internet, we all try relatively to be respectful. There is a profanity filter, and we are mostly respectful, hold some eagles and skins fans.

I am aware of what WWJD normally stands for. I thought it was clever so I used it in the post. No, I am not doing anything absurd like comparing Jerry Jones to Jesus. Goodness gracious that would be ridiculous. There is no deeper meaning to it. It's just a harmless use of initials - a pun with no hidden agenda. I'm sorry if I offended anyone.
