The Cowboys just lost to the worst starting quarterback in the NFL

Let that one sink in. Sure, there might not be many quarterbacks in the league playing better than Dak Prescott. Heading into this game, there weren't many playing worse than Bryce Young.
And yet, the Cowboys are walking out of Bank of America Stadium on the wrong end of a 30-27 last-second finish.
We've seen Russell Wilson, who is no longer starting for the Giants, play his best game in several years. Caleb Williams had a career day against the Cowboys, while Jalen Hurts and Jordan Love basically did whatever they needed to. Even Justin Fields put up solid numbers, especially in the end.

But letting Bryce Young beat you just makes no sense.

-------------------------------

This is not a knock on Young, but he's just at the bottom of starting quarterbacks in the league. If you can't beat him in a game like this, then something has to be done.

After six games, I don't know if this defense needs the biggest change, but it needs something. The Cowboys lost to a team that nearly had a 200-yard rusher and nearly a 200-yard passer. Make that make sense.
Right now, it doesn't make a lot of sense. And when that happens, it usually signals some kind of change.

Fields is the worst. The fact that he couldn't look like a good nfl qb against this defense says a lot about him and the Jets
That’s a great point. Every QB we played looks like an all pro besides Fields. Fields looked like Fields.

Wow! That is bad. I don’t know their depth chart but I think it’s time to bench him.
They have Tyrod Taylor, who also sucks

I actually follow the Jets and watch all their games.

It’s hilarious to me how people here cry about our coaching when Aaron Glenn, the guy so many people wanted, is just awful and has built one of the worse coaching staffs in the NFL.

Glenn does something terrible, and downright unforgivable in almost every game. His situational coaching, time management, down and distance decision making. All terrible.

In almost every game they have some ridiculous breakdown where the entire offense looks like they have no idea what to do as the clock runs.

The Jets are truly awful.

I obviously don’t follow the Jets as much as you but I got that vibe last week when we played them. I was thinking in my mind this is not one of Glenn’s better days. But it sounds like that’s every day for him. Glenn maybe one of those guys that’s a good coordinator but not a good HC.

I think at this point if I was a Jets fan I’d want to see what Tyrod can do. Yeah he sucks but could it be worse that what Fields did today?

Let this set in. The ball was at midfield, it was basically a 0 to 0 game, and out comes Mr. MVP, and he drives his own team back 12 yards and has to punt. MVP QB make things happen when they are playing a weak team, but our superstar does what he does best in close games, he disappears. It doesn't matter what the defense had done up to this point, it was basically a tie game and he done nothing........

This thread has really missed it's mark IMO.

We didn't lose to the worst starting QB in the NFL, we lost to one of the worst owners in the NFL.

When David Tepper bought the Panthers, yes, he had a GM pretty much in name only because Tepper is a multi billionaire and thought he and his wife knows football. I've lived in NC the last 24 years now and live about 90 minutes north of Charlotte and had to live Panthers football due to all the news that team makes locally.

Tepper created one of the biggest self induced dumpster fire organizations the NFL has ever seen.

I really don't care about the Panthers and don't even really keep track of them, but perhaps he is finally learning his lesson. No clue because there is a owner/GM out there for the last 30 years still really doesn't seem to have a clue...

This is the Cowboys defense every week. The Panthers averaged 329 yards per game before gaining 410 against Dallas. The defense is just awful. I will be like this every week, and it could get worse. If the players give up on Eberflus, things will get really ugly, if you can imagine that.

I don't blame Eberflus entirely. At some point you have to recognize the defensive talent is not very good. At the same time, I cannot buy that they are that bad either. There are some solid players on the defense but there is no impact guy. There is no playmaker anymore. I don't believe keeping Micah would have made the run defense that much better, but I do believe his pass rushing ability would be a big help to the pass defense. Then again, leaving WRs wide open on every play is something even Micah could not overcome.

I mean agree it’s not acceptable to lose to him but he’s not the worst. Russ and Fieids are worse and they fit their all over us.

Panthers fand tell me he’s worse than Jerry. Never heard any fans say that;

Why are you surprised? When Wilson threw for over 400 on us. Yet every other team's defense sent him embarrassed walking back to the bench.

Wait that wasn’t Steve Young out there? Jerrah won’t fire is hand picked defensive coordinator just yet because it will show he has no clue.

His name Mike do you need his last name too?
Sorry don't know who the guy is.

You gave me the impression from your response that this was the first you were hearing about David Teppers. Although I'm not a fan, believe me, I hear a lot of local people complain about the owner.

Again, my only point is Teppers for the most part, is probably worse than Jerry as a owner.

Yeah I was just saying I heard he was bad. Not familiar with him honestly but getting compared to Jerry isn’t good.

Doing a training class and had to talk to a counterpart I work with.

He informs me he is in Green Bay.

Needless to say, and I didn't know this, but he's been a cheese head since 1970.

I looked up the game, Parsons was a no show, I actually thought he may not have played.

I asked my counterpart how did Parson's do during the game and I was expecting a "not much". He told me via text "yeah, he caused a lot of havoc and the other linebackers cashed in on it and Flacco was always looking for him".

My only point is as bad as this defense sucks now, if Jerry would have bit the bullet and signed Parsons at the very beginning of 2025, this defense could be completely different and reasons it would have to be better.
