What isn't being said is showing up large.
The Cowboys players have a morale problem, and it shows.
I don't think the players wanted Dak re-signed. After last season's blowout loss to the Packers I believe the players saw once and for all what Dak's ceiling was. They can't say it publicly without being crucified, but I believe that they are/were hoping for a change that didn't come. And now they know the next four to six years are lost.
They are human and they know what's going on.
And it shows on the field.
Jerry finished off the Cowboys when he re-signed Dak to that insane contract.

I don’t think the defense had any say in it at all
They were too concerned about their own screwup.
Who cares what the players think. That’s a coaching issue.
yeah, I’m sure they were all screaming for Cooper Rush, under their breath. LMAO.
if you’re a professional, where is the first place you look, at yourself.

Oh look - another leeblair post where he finds more ways to blame Dak for EVERYTHING that's wrong with the Cowboys. So, while Dak absolutely sucked Sunday (and has quite a few times this year), what does he have to do with Donovan Wilson getting absolutely TOASTED by Kittle all night? Or, what does he have to do with the 49er's 3rd string RB gashing the D? Is that because of moral? Have you talked to any of these players you think you know how they are feeling? I'm betting you absolutely do NOT watch any tape after these games. Starting to think quite a few guys don't watch any tape (as my coaches always told me - the Tape Don't Lie).

I believe you have it all wrong. Why? Because Dak Prescott has a teammate named Micah Parsons, who has a podcast where he says anything that pops into his head. And he has no filter. Parsons would have (at least) spoken 'on behalf of his teammates' by inferring no one wanted Prescott re-signed.

That said, some of the players may not have wanted Prescott to sign a second 'largest contract in NFL history'. That could have primarily affected morale for those individuals. Overall? Injuries, lack of roster talent and poor coaching are the more likely culprits for any decrease in morale for the rest of the team.

OMG, give it a rest. its not about Dak getting a deal. its you looking for attention posting something totally meaningless because you are daksessed.
its that this team lacks talent. is Guyton a Rookie didn't want to give Dak a contract? he sucks. Steele got a Steal in 82M deal and he sucks. Zeke sucks...or is he jealous? because nobody wanted hi and Jerry gave him a 2M contract....

they have a morale problem not because of a contract. that's you, and some of the fans who flip burgers getting jealous and having morale issues.... this team is devoid of talent in most areas. the coach is a lame duck coach in the last year of his contract and the product on the field sucks..
btw, we have 23M on the cap in 24...... so who is the problem now?

Low morale causes those things.
Intangibles are half of coaching.

I agree with the premise but I don’t at all think it’s about Prescott.

It’s tough for players to buy in when you have inferior/dated schemes, and the head coach clearly isn’t the boss or anyone to fear, but that’s what owner Jerrys ego has to have.

It really all begins and ends there.

We'll never know. But the players know how much Dak's deal impacts the salary cap.
If they know, maybe more players should show their frustration and call him bad words like Diggs did in camp a few years ago. I can't say those words on here, mod on duty!!! lol:cool:

The issue is, once again, you're projecting your OWN feelings into what YOU think the players are feeling. And, unless you've actually talked to any of these players, you're once again talking out of mind.

Personally I think the morale is just fine. IMHO most of them seem very pleased with themselves.
Yep. I'm seeing players smiling and laughing on the sidelines during humiliating blowouts. Losing doesn't bother these guys at all, but if you point it out on social media, then look out! Suddenly these badasses are ready for a fight!

I think the players know they cannot succeed with Dak at quarterback, and are playing with that in mind.
Sure, they like winning, but with no easy teams on the schedule like they have grown accustomed to over the past 13 seasons, they can't pad theirrecord with wins against those weak teams.
Therefore I think they are beat before they walk on the field.
I think Jerry's extension of Dak rubbed the lack of accountability in their faces, and they are just making the best of it at this point.

I seriously doubt this to be the case at all. Dak is personally well liked in the locker room and players love it when another player gets grossly overpaid. The culture here isn't about winning it is about getting paid. The leaders of the defense created the hotboyz moniker just to show the world what they really care about....$$$$$ if they happen to win a few games so be it but all they really want is that dollar.

So much guano. Anyhow....

This boat has too many leaks to feel comfortable on. But.... there have been worse versions of the Dallas Cowboys! All we can do (unless one of you are Jerry Jones) is to just embrace the suck and hope for the best.
