Ferguson, CeeDee and Pickens were featured at the game.

Dak played too. Edit: I forgot Turpin too!

Bottom line? Dak has an EMBARRASSMENT OF WEAPONS and an embarrassing $60mm/year salary.

We need guys for special teams so that the opposing team isn't starting on the 40. We need help on all 3 levels of the D.

Dak is a like a fixer-upper house...a potential money pit. The money is better invested in the land and not the house.

Dak did his job last year, no one here can deny that. Its impossible for a qb to be perfect on every play and dak had no margin for error. The defense was an embarrassment of all embarrassment. To sit here and bash the guy who was the reason for the #1 offense is wild. Says a lot about you.

We need money because.... "we need guys for special teams"........ Yikes!

It makes no sense lol. He gives credit to the guys for catching but not the one throwing it to them lol.

I can and will deny it. Dak wasn't hired as a QC control coordinator. He was hired to be the CEO of the team and specifically the offense. As regards leadership intangibles, Dak is awesome. He's a bit too phony and golly-gee for me, but he's there. But as regards performance based on PAY and SUPPORT...he failed.

7-9-1

probowl will be the only bowl game prescott and lamb will ever see in there careers as long as they are cowboy players.

The guys catching are better than the guy throwing it. CeeDee and Pickens are moving almost every #1WR out of their jobs save maybe 2-3 WRs.

Dak is NOT taking these jobs:

Stafford
Mahomes
Jackson
Allen
C. Williams
J. Daniels
CJ Stroud (based on pay/relative value)
Brock Purdy
Maye
Bo Nix
Herbert
Lawrence
Darnold

I could go on. Even if you halve my list, he's not top 2-3. He's throwing to SUPERIOR TALENT.

I don't care about top 3 or top 5 or top 20. To me it's Mahomes and everyone else. I'll let you and Stephen A Smith argue about that. I just know last season he had a great year.

We've gotten the formula wrong for Dak.

He needs reliable (not superstar) receivers, an elite running game, and a top 5 defense.

CeeDee, despite the drops, is a chain mover and could fit that 'reliable' mold.

Concentrating resources into the WR group (Pickens) would be a mistake unless the plan is truly a Philly style "all-in" where we mortgage the future.

I've never been a fan of Dak's contract but at this time it's up to Jerry and Stephen to manipulate the cap and find a way to get more talent on the roster. Specifically on defense
Dak is on record now with recent comments about wanting to keep Pickens on the roster. But you can't help wondering what lengths he would go to in order to help make it happen. Would he entertain a pay cut down to a number between 50 and 55? 45 and 50?

His contract would still be too high in my opinion, but at least it would be a sign he really does want to compete for something more than regular season stats and bull manure pro bowls that no longer have the same meaning they used to have.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Dak to do something for the team rather than himself.

But only because he had 2 #1 receivers on the roster who had a monster year far better than Dak's. They also had a good running game for the first time in a while.

But all the credit goes to Dak........ right?

I agree. This should be Jerry's last hoorah! With Pickens talking about wanting to be a Cowboy and players like Dak saying they want him in Dallas, this should be an easy deal. Pickens isn't asking to be the highest paid receiver. He is asking for a contract.

That said, I think Jerry is losing it. He should seriously consider retiring from the game. Many people don’t see him as relevant anymore, and he often sounds out of touch. If he signs Pickens, I’m sure he could win back some disgruntled fans and possibly earn forgiveness for choosing Zimmer and Eberflus as DC.
