Danny White said it the best

White: You've got to, as a player, kind of ignore it because it's not coming from anyone who has any authority ... Dak's going to have to deal with that part of it if he's going to be a successful NFL QB. Learn to deal with the ridiculousness of things that happen to you as a quarterback in the NFL.

Well pull out all of these rookies then. Bring up the large list of rookies who have won 11 in a row and lost 1 game, which is considered a slump.

Yet again, the "win" column DOES NOT MATTER when evaluating a single player. I have stated this before, and it will be the last time I do for you. We could be 0-13 right now and this wouldn't dictate how I feel about Dak. I go by performance.

Heck, right off the top of my head, both Wilson and RGIII got better later in their rookie year. Statistically Luck wasn't impressive his rookie season, but as the season went on you saw the poise, mechanics, and mobility that made him so successful in college shine through in the NFL. Joe Flacco in 08 started to grow into his own late in the season.

You can get away with regression like Big Ben in 2004 when you have a near historically great defense. We don't have that, we aren't going to consistently keep teams to 10-17 points, especially high powered offenses. Our strength and big playmakers are on offense, if we aren't making plays there we are in trouble.

1. Its not ridiculous.

2. You have no idea what our record would be with Romo. For all you know, we would be undefeated. Its called counter-factual history.

3. If Dak rights the ship and performs well on Sunday, he keeps his job. Its in his hands, not ours.

4. Still, you don't waste a best in the league record and HFA in the playoffs on a learning experience for a rookie--if that rookie is clearly struggling.

5. You play to win the game.
Struggling rookie quarterbacks are Wentz, Goff and Kessler. Dak has had two bad games, it's disrespectful to put him in that same category.

How many more games like that are necessary before you would conclude he is struggling?

I can show you plenty of rookie QBs that, this late in the season, didn't regress the way Dak has. Again, can't covert on third downs. Inaccurate. Won't use his legs. This is all with talent around him.

He looks like hot garbage.
So you blame that all on dak? OK.

As much as I believe Romo is a good qb and defended him, the best thing for this team moving forward after this year is to cut him or trade him. This argument will never end and it is detrimental to the fanbase and team.
As much as I hate to admit it, this is true. Love you Tony Romo, but Dak appears to be the future and with this owner and this fanbase, the two can't coexist for the last years of Romo's career.

Because the NFL didn't just start "this year"

Which is better

Your rookie QB starting hot and then regressing as the year goes on or starting cold and improving?

And it really has nothing to do with decision making. Rookie QBs will, at times, be confused by defenses. This is understandable. But when I see a QB regressing mechanically, losing the poise he had earlier (Makes me question his mental toughness), and becoming so inaccurate he can't complete a third down. You can overlook these problems as much as you like, I can promise you no matter what Garrett throws out, this continues and he'll be riding the bench.
If it continues, maybe he should ride the bench. But give him a chance. He has earned it.

It's a controversy because Dak has performed poorly for multiple games in a row. The owner only said that if they made the change we would only know after they did the change ie on a Sunday.

He's had these issues with his mechanics for awhile now but has been able to keep drives alive with his feet. As a thrower he's been poor for some time now.
That's not all the owner only said. Before Sunday's game the owner said "I think that Romo is going to get on the field for us this season. I really think that Romo is going to have the chance THIS YEAR to get on the field and lead us to a Super Bowl." So my question is this: is the owner predicting that Dak is going to get hurt; or is the owner predicting that Dak is gonna be benched for Romo?

Romo went 12-3 in 2014, while recovering from an injury the entire year. He was 3-1 last year with an injury. Stop talking nonsense, are we EVER going to get a decent argument from the Prescott side?

Romo in 2007 won 12 out of 13 games, only losing to the Patriots. And that offense wasn't anywhere NEAR what we have now. Nowhere damn close to it.

No, you're content with Dak's noodle arm. You're content with him not even able to convert a third down. You're content when the running game shuts down, his accuracy goes to Tebow level.

"Rookie QB" or not, he looked terrible. Stop with the excuses.

Dak has a better 3rd down completion percentage than Romo did last year.

I honestly hope and they do play Romo so I can watch you boys Scramble for cover and we can end this nonsense once and for all

I just listened to Romos interview on the Ben and skin show from a couple years ago. He said he doesn't give a crap about winning a SB for another team, he wants it for dallas. Give him the chance!
I roll with whomever the coaches decide to start as QB but let's not act like Romo has not had years to win a SB for Dallas.

Especially the Dallas Cowboys quarterback.

No doubt. Feeling seem to get glazed over down the road for instance most Cowboy fans loved Don Meredith but for those of us who watched him play many fans were not very kind to Meredith and got to the point he got fed up with it and retired from the game. Most of us saw Aikman later in his career being booed at Texas Stadium. Danny White was blamed for everything under the sun yet was an excellent QB who came up short. We see it with Romo now. The shocking part is seeing people coming down on Dak who has not even played a full season and has helped this team to a franchise setting pace yet now is coming under fire I admit this is a 1st for me seeing a young QB getting ripped so soon and with success that no one was even predicting. Cowboy fans have hit a new low.

Garrett could alternate Romo and Dak every other play. No Cowboys coach has ever done that before.

Two sides of the story here

1) Dak has played really well most of the season. he's been a very good leader and has been an amazingly efficient QB.
All QBs, no exceptions, have a poor game every once in awhile. As long as this doesn't become a true trend (say, 4 out of 5 games, for example) this should be fine.

The future is bright, regardless.
We hit a home run that should pay dividends with he cap and come draft day for years to come.
He line is fully re-built after years of being putrid and we have what should be a perennial pro-bowl running back in Zeke.
He (and we!) is/are fully set up for success.

2) Romo has played one full healthy game in more than a year. His last full game was vs the Giants on opening night last season. That's it. He got hurt in the 2nd game and came back still not right for two more before getting hurt in the place on same clearly unhealed bone.

We all know about 2014. Outerworldy 113 QB rating in the regular season and 125 QB rating in the post season. No player has ever done that.

Once Dallas decided the line was run game were strong enough to run more, Romo (and now Dak) have had it much easier playing QB. This is why people use 2014 as the comp...because a great line a d running back is similar to this season.
But even then in 2014, as great as he was, he did have two stinker games.
We need to keep that perspective for Dak.

In 2015, in that one game he was healthy vs the Giants, he was very good (game-winning TD drive, 356 yards passing, 103 QB rating) but not at his late 2014 level.

So 5 team wins in a row with vs New York with Romo.
3 teams losses ina row without him.

Here are the final drives in the last two games Romo played vs the Giants....
both game-winning TD drives.

2014
Dallas losing 24-28 late in the 4th.
  1. Romo complete to Dez for 4 yards
  2. Romo complete to Witten for 5
  3. Murray runs for 9
  4. 5 yard NY penalty drawn offsides
  5. Romo complete to Beasley for 21
  6. Romo complete Witten for 15
  7. Romo complete to Bryant...Touchdown
1 minute 49 secs
Dallas wins 31-28

2015
Dallas losing 20-26 time running out in the 4th
  1. Romo to Dunbar for 24
  2. Romo to Dunbar for 15
  3. Romo to Witten for 13
  4. Romo incomplete to Beasely
  5. Romo to Williams for 8
  6. Romo to Witten for 11...Touchdown
1 minute 29 secs
Dallas wins 27-26

Yep Dak SUCKS!

If he called the signals a bit louder, then people wouldn't be getting holding calls on them
If he took control of special teams as the leader of the team, our return teams wouldn't be penalized on every return
If he had put the ball down lower, Dez could have caught that first INT when he slipped to the ground
If he had told Dez that ball really, really was going to him on the 2nd INT, Dez would not have quit on that route
If he had not sweated on the ball that last play, Dez would not have fumbled it to finish the game
