I believe Dallas recouped a first for him eventually?

I dont remember what we got back in return for him but we gave up the #1 overall pick for him.

I think it was either a 1-2-3 or 1-2

i won't be suprised if #22 or #28 goes on that list in a few years

strong possibility based on history of picks in the 20's & 30's

LOL

Before we even see the picks. Good job using this to promote your McFadden agenda. Warning, warning, warning, if we don't trade up to get him #22 and/or #28 could be busts.

I would replace DE Bethea with Peppi "FIREBALL" Zellner

Honorable mention for OT Cha-ron "Jabba The Hut" Dorsey

or the fact i asked you to tell me the history of who we have ever drafted at #22 and #28 in the 1st round. after you showed me i realized we drafted garbage at those picks. plus jerry has been struggling drafting secondary players if you haven't noticed.

Yeah, I should have thought about the bust players being contingent on high picks... I got stuck in the Campo era I guess.

But, I thought they were amusing nonetheless:eek::

That's a great (great????)... let me rephrase that... a well thought-out list and pretty comprehensive. You have to go back to before your time to add guys like Richmond Flowers, Dennis Homan, David McDaniels, Bill Thomas, and Charley Young. Flowers was to be a DB or wideout (in desparation to save the pick)... Homan and McDaniels were WRs. Thomas and Young were RBs. Al early picks.

The Cowboys were snakebitten with injuries for a while... Robert Shaw, but also Billy Cannon Jr., whom they thought would be an outstanding linebacker. In a way, Steve Kiner, because of his personal problems, was a bust at LB... could have been very good.

Tody Smith was a first round DL bust, but was valuable in a trade-up to get Too Tall Jones, if I recall correctly...

Antonio Bryant (2nd 2002) although he went on to have a 1000 yard season with Cleveland later he had so much promise and was a huge bust for us. No only that we passed on Brian Westbrook twice to take him and Derek Ross in that draft. ouch

I forgot about Cannon, No wonder with Richards, Brooks, Shaw, and Rod Hill we sucked in the 80's. And to think that Gil Brandt is still giving out Advice.

Cowboys' first choices 1978-1987 (Jim Jeffcoat looks like Bob Lilly in this crowd):

1987 Danny Noonan, DT, Nebraska
1986 Mike Sherrard, WR, UCLA
1985 Kevin Brooks, DE, Michigan
1984 (USFL) Todd Fowler, S.F. Austin
1984 Billy Cannon, LB, Texas A&M
1983 Jim Jeffcoat, DE, Arizona St.
1982 Rod Hill, CB, Kentucky St.
1981 Howard Richards, T, Missouri
1980 Bill Roe, LB, Colorado
1979 Robert Shaw, C, Tennessee
1978 Larry Bethea, DL, Michigan St.
