well we are 2-2 and at .500 again...it seems its our destiny under Parcells to be a .500 team...

1) just because some people are not happy with that they see, doesnt make them any less of a "fan" of the team...I cant speak for everyone else, but I feel we should be better right now than what we show on the field, especially defensively where so many premium draft picks and salary cap dollars have been allocated...some people want something better than mediocre and there is nothing wrong with that...some people are satisfied with playing like crap but still somehow having a chance to tie in the end

2) I really think Bledsoe is hurt...its easy to be critical of him for taking sacks and an untimely throw/decision here and there, but he's always had a good arm and thrown with accuracy when he had time...he rarely missed open guys, however something happened in that last preseason game vs the Vikes and he has not been the same since and he doesnt appear to have the same velocity, and definitely isnt as accurate...I'm not making excuses for him and do think its time to change QB's, but I know Parcells wont do it...Bledsoe really needs a few weeks off to heal...if Romo isnt playing well they can go back to Bledsoe, but maybe Romo shows well and a permanent change can be made...either way, something needs to be done

3) Julius Jones is really playing well...he may get 1400-1500 yds at this pace

4) I still dont understand the non-use of the shotgun, especially on 3rd and long plays...I know Adam pointed out in one thread that Gurode supposedly wasnt good at it...but I'm sorry these guys are professionals...this is ALL they do is play and practice football...cant the coaches sit there and make him shotgun snap until his arm/hand falls off in practice? Isnt this how you get better at something?

5) the next two home games have basically become MUST wins for this seasons hopes...I think if they lose either (or both) of these games the season is basically over...I really dont think we'll win at Carolina, I think Arizona will be tough and I know Washington will be tough...we gotta be 4-2 going into that 3 game road trip

6) kinda lost in yesterdays debacle was Vanderjact nailing his lone FG attempt...hey, its something

7) didnt they say they liked Ayodele alot (at the time we signed him) because he was such a good blitzer? Has he even done it once this yr?

8) I think if I were the coaches I'd begin to look for ways to get Rector, Hurd or even Miles Austin on the field some in 3 WR sets..Crayton doesnt seem to be getting open and we could use the extra speed IMO

9) 2007 aggressive 4-3 defense with maybe Ron Rivera as HC...Ware and Spears at DE, Ratliff and Ferguson at DT...James at MLB...Carpenter at SOLB and Burnett at WOLB...rotation guys would be Ellis and Canty at DE...maybe a rookie at DT....same secondary as now, except somebody coaches them to attack the ball in the air better....hey I can dream

This is what I think as well. It comes to a point that Parcells needs to follow his mantra about who gives him the "best chance to win." If Bledsoe is really hurt or is still feeling effects from the "injury" sustained in the Vikings game, Parcells needs to acknowledge an injury (for once) and strongly consider that maybe, just maybe Romo gives us the best chance to win. I don't know. It's hard to pull Bledsoe because he has played so well at times, but the inconsistency he has displayed this season is bizarre.

I dont think the defensive scheme matters. I think it all evolves around your talent and your defensive philosophy.

I have no idea if this is Zimmer's or Parcells' defense.

I just dont think there is a enough creativity and aggressiveness on that side of the ball, regardless of what scheme we are using.

I wish we could pair the Defensive "aggressiveness" of 2003 with our 2006 talent.

I stopped reading here.... this sums it up without reading the rest. We shoudl be 4-0 no bones about it. We dont close the deal in our two losses. We had lull's in both game in the middle of the games... instead of putting the dagger through the heart by scoring points... we play flat.

I have little doubt that if we had a young coach with some balls and a QB with just a little better decision making then we would be undefeated.

Its really not a woulda, coulda, shoulda - We are not what our records says we are

I Completely agree and that was the first thought that came to mind when Bledsoe under threw TO for the interception around the 5 when it should have been the touchdown; however, I am pretty sure its Bledsoe that is wanting to stay in not Parcells pushing him to stay in. Bledsoe rembers what happened in New England when he went out...he does not want the same thing here so he is going to tough it out.

I stopped reading right here. Tell me one good reason why you think cowboys should have won against Eagles? I agree cowboys had a chance to tie up the game and but its not like they blow up a big lead with some unlucky calls/plays...

They play flat and didnt score in the lull of the game. Good teams do that... especially to a Eagles team that didnt have all their weapons.

It is absolutely imperative that we find out what Romo can do this year. We have to know before next April's draft. We can't go to San Antonio next summer with a lingering mystery on our hands. Gradowski has a nice game yesterday but Romo has yet to throw a pass in three years? Ridiculous. Hell, even Andrew Walter's seen a ton of action.

Agreed. Rector on a reverse would add a new wrinkle.

Absolutely. DITCH the 3-4, which gets zero pressure on the QB, esp with this personnel. We have no idea if Spears, Ratliff, Canty, or Hatcher are any good. Just because they're young doesn't mean they're the real deal.

It seems we are still alot like the old Campo teams that ran the 4-3 and had journeymen for QBs. We either cannot run, or protect the QB. We play desent Defense but them give up big plays. We have troulbe pressuring the QB.
We are not as good a team as one would think looking at the roster.

We play well enough to win until mid way of the 3 quarter or start of the 4th, then we get tired, blow up, choke, whatever.

Depressing.

Both guys you mention are on the field as a result of an injury to the starting QB. That is the only way Romo hits the field IMHO.
