I like Marinelli - so here's hoping once Hardy,McClain and Gregory get back they make a HUGE difference because losing Scandrick is really hurting big time right now. This is the worst part of the team.

Even if all they do is inject leadership into this lifeless defensive unit, it's a positive.

Carr is awful man. Claiborne is making him look even worse how he has played.

I'll have to see a replay to confirm, but on the td run I swear I saw Carr deliberately hop-skip out of the path of the runner and then semi-whiff after he blows by him. He was scared to hit out there tonight, and on top of that he cant cover. Seems like anything thrown his way is a completion.

I will be a bit more lenient on the defensive side. Two weeks in a row they held the other offenses in check for the first half. They are doing all they can all the while the offense is stagnate. You can't ask this defense to do that for a full game, it will catch up.

Yes, they are bad but the coaches are not helping them in any way. If you keep playing not to lose with this defense, well, they will keep losing.

Aside from the injuries, I can't see Church and Carr leave fast enough. Heck, keep Mo over Carr at this point. But, alas, it all starts up front where Dallas is hurting the most.

Jones needs to replace Patmon, the dude is awful. Another Sterling Moore, completely and utterly useless.

Wasn't happy with Carr, Free, and Leary. Also the pass rush was terrible. I feel we would have won if Hardy and Gregory was playing though.

Claiborne and Irving were very solid. This, in my opinion, was a must win because I don't envision Dallas beating the Pats but I have to keep in mind that the team is in a weak division so that keeps us alive.

Kind of off topic but I see the injuries as a blessing in disguise. For one we are still being competitive in these last two loses. Two, the injuries are showing us the team's weaknesses. Dallas must look into drafting a RT, QB (Tony's replacement) and WR in next years draft.

Please try Collins at RT, asap.

What did you see as the good in the game with the Defense and what was the bad.

BP I think you said awhile back you catch WWE wrestling. That being said is it me or is Sean Lee footballs version of Daniel Brian ( the wrestler) / Great wrestler but is always injured and his career is seriously in jeopardy.

Lawrence finally looked good.

Hitch came back.

Irving looks like a player. Very excited to see him more. He is huge!

The NFL officiating for DB's is horrific, can't do anything and draw a penalty now.

Lee is still made of glass.

The hurry up kills this D.

Av Im not trying to be Captain Obvious ( love those commercials) but I thought that when they said we would have a rotation for the line. I thought if teams know that's what we wanted to do why wouldn't they just run hurry up against us?

The defense is kind of what I figured it would be, so nothing to really get bent out of shape over. The reality is that this team would have been 3-1 or 4-0 with Romo and Dez, but their two best players went down and now the team is 2-2. It will probably get worse before it gets better, but that's football for ya!

Our ability to run the ball last year masked our bad the D was. Our inability to control the TOP in the second halves of games is exposing our D this year. Coupled with the lack of a pass rush, poor tackling and lack of foot speed at the safety spots is obvious.

I was counting on Brees throwing some pics and he did. We just could not catch them. The TOP this second half was not bad at all but the D still crapped the bed when it mattered. So claiming they were gassed does not work. Bonehead plays and mistakes once again finished us. Did not help that on the play that won the game for the Saints we screwed up the coverage.

The Good

Claiborne, Patmon and White have played well. Claiborne is looking something like the CB that we drafted and I think Patmon is more skilled than Scandrick in the slot. Byron Jones has looked solid as a rookie. There are some instances where his inexperience shows up.

Lawrence finally played well tonight. He's been atrocious versus the Giants and Falcons and played well against the Eagles...but everybody played well against the Eagles.

Damien Wilson looked good and made me wonder why he hasn't seen more playing time. Probably struggling with where to be in practice, but if he plays well in the game then maybe he's a poor practice player.

I hate to say it, but Nick Hayden has been solid this year. Crawford played well and Mincey played well.

Irving looked real promising. I'm a bit skeptical of him because he's very tall for a 4-3 DT, but so was Hatcher.

I think Wilcox is pretty darn solid out there.

The Bad

Gachkar got lost too many times. Since the refs don't call illegal pick plays more often than I may see Haley's Comet, he got injured on an illegal pick play and should have feigned an injury timeout on the field. Instead, he rushed to get off the field and that caused confusion with who would be substituting and Payton took advantage of it. Kind of symbolized the night. Somebody gets injured and there's confusion for the new player as for what they should do.

I don't understand Marinelli's play calling when the Saints stocked up on the strongside and continually ran that way. That was awful by Marinelli.

As I said after his injury in 2013, we really need to move on from the Sean Lee era. He's great when he's healthy, but he gets injured way too often and he's relied upon too much. I like the idea of Ro. McClain, Lee and Hitchens at LB because Hitchens can move to the WILL if when Lee gets hurt again. But, we couldn't even get 4 games from Lee to stay healthy before McClain came back. And McClain wasn't exactly injury free last season and I'm not sure what we do next year at LB other than hope Wilson comes along nicely and we draft another LB that can contribute right away. I still think one of the best things that happened to this defense last season was Lee getting injured for the season right away. It may sound harsh, but the reality is that we didn't have to rely on him.

The strongside looks to be a massive issue. That's where Lawrence, Wilber/Gachkar, Carr and Church all play. The Falcons gouged the strongside and so did the Saints. Lawrence played well this week, but it appears that opponents will use his aggressiveness against him. Which is fine, but you need a linebacker AND corner to step up on the process and Carr is dreadful against the run.

The issue with Church is that he's not the smartest safety out there and doesn't have the speed to makeup for it. I think it's a major issue for this organization going forward...we need to value the safety position more in this game than we value the corner position. That's what the league has changed into. If we have a great zone corner, I'm all for paying extra money to keep them (i.e. Claiborne if he continues at this rate). But, this is a game where good defenses better have very good safeties. I think Wilcox is fine. But, it's a serious hole with Church unless the pass rush is working and the opposing offense is playing at a slow pace. And I don't know if Marinelli and the organization would be into finding a top notch safety in the draft.
