There is a big reason why the University of Miami has two defensive ends going in the first round. It is because of a special coach who with great passion and devotion, tutored them, developed them, then unleashed them on opposing offenses. This is what sparked the rise of the "U" back to glory.
The "U" has had the magic of "the defensive end whisperer" coach. What an impact he has had on Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor!
Introducing the rising "defensive end whisperer," Hall of Fame defensive end, a former 2nd round draft pick by Jimmy Johnson's Dolphins, JASON TAYLOR, who entered the league as an underweight and lanky 6'6" defensive end. Taylor earned six Pro Bowl berths and three First-Team All-Pro selections as a member of the Miami Dolphins during his illustrious 15-year NFL career.
Taylor's impact on young defensive line talent down in Coral Gables, Florida, located about 7 miles southwest of downtown Miami has been immense, despite the temptations of a Garden of Eden landscape lined with palm trees, a 365 day a year swimming pool in the middle of the campus, and a bevy of hot female bombshells grabbing the attention of most young men.
Taylor's meteoric rise as a "defensive end whisperer," in teaching professional-level defensive end play should grab the attention of the Cowboys' coaches and front office.
