Threads have exploded this week about Zeke Elliott and all aspects of his suspension, the NFL, the Columbus police, the players union, Jerry's reaction, and what the options are going forward.

All of that doesn't address the single most important question going forward.

Will Ezekiel Elliott change his ways? Or will he one of those many players that just spiral themselves into football oblivion.

Josh Gordon, Plaxico Burress, Rolando McClain, Greg Hardy, Lawrence Phillips, Vince Young, Johnny Manziel, Aldon Smith, Stanley Wilson........

Can Zeke stop? Can he nip this in the bud and change his lifestyle, the people he associates with, the women he chooses, the nature of his instinctive ways? His reputation is one of a unquenchable thirst to take every party to the extreme.

This suspension will pass, if it even ends up being a suspension. I'm a lot more worried about the NEXT suspension if he doesn't get his ship in order.

Great player. Good-natured, fun-loving kid. But obviously there is an addiction to partying that tends to only trend one direction with most people like him.

If a significant change doesn't occur, this career could flash and flame out almost overnight.

I'm glad you brought this up, I've been thinking the same thing. This suspension might be the best thing that's ever happened to him, long-term.

To find out, the Cowboys have to intervene right now, like they did with Dez. If that means hiring his own personal "babysitter", so be it.

Zeke is a superstar. I do not want to see him throw it all away.

I do agree with your point that he has to learn from this and change what he's doing.

Regardless of rather he's innocent or not from these accusations he's going to have to be smarter, and put himself around better people, going forward or he could wind up with a target painted on him that the NFL will zero in on.

Hopefully he decides football is more fun than beating women going forward so he doesn't potentially ruin his career.

Would be a waste of a pick if he decides otherwise.

He should avoid women that are only after his money. Notably those that make false claims so that they can get the handouts from football players. They are out there.

Honestly if I was a football player I'd get the women that Im going out with do a background check. This verdict is unprecendented and will make every player think twice, not only Zeke.

Get that crap out of here.

You have no proof he beat that girl just like Goodell has no proof. Accusing someone of being a woman beater without proof should be very beneath anyone.

Only Zeke and that girl knows the truth. All we know for sure is that someone did give her bruises and she lied once before about Zeke touching her.

Background check doesn't catch crazy.

erod--- I was saying this a few weeks ago...zeke reminds me of me in the US Navy....pushing the partying to the max and getting in trouble and not learning my lesson...its an addictive type personality that does this

Does anybody think that Dallas will give Zeke a second Contract?

Those who refuse to see Elliott has some big issues are in complete denial.

Let's suppose Elliott didn't assault the young woman that accused him of doing so --an assumption many here seem quite eager to make.

The guy knows...rightly or wrongly that he's under scrutiny and that his behavior can lead to missing games. So what does he do during the one year suspension?

-Find his way into a pot shop
-Get a ticket for driving 100mph
-Get into frequent car crashes*
-The St Patty's Day incident
-Be at the epicenter of the guy getting knocked out w/some saying Zeke hit the guy.

That's in one year, folks...all while knowing he is facing possible suspension and will be watched like a hawk!

If we should be mad and frustrated...perhaps we should be most mad at Zeke?

*He's had four or five crashes in just the past 3 years. He even joked about it on Twitter, posting,
"I'm good. I've been in bigger collisions. Lol"

now that is a good question...if he learns his lesson and stays out of trouble and does not get overused and burned out in 5 years then maybe?..if i were the cowboys i would run him into the ground before he party's his way out of the league
