Threads have exploded this week about Zeke Elliott and all aspects of his suspension, the NFL, the Columbus police, the players union, Jerry's reaction, and what the options are going forward.
All of that doesn't address the single most important question going forward.
Will Ezekiel Elliott change his ways? Or will he one of those many players that just spiral themselves into football oblivion.
Josh Gordon, Plaxico Burress, Rolando McClain, Greg Hardy, Lawrence Phillips, Vince Young, Johnny Manziel, Aldon Smith, Stanley Wilson........
Can Zeke stop? Can he nip this in the bud and change his lifestyle, the people he associates with, the women he chooses, the nature of his instinctive ways? His reputation is one of a unquenchable thirst to take every party to the extreme.
This suspension will pass, if it even ends up being a suspension. I'm a lot more worried about the NEXT suspension if he doesn't get his ship in order.
Great player. Good-natured, fun-loving kid. But obviously there is an addiction to partying that tends to only trend one direction with most people like him.
If a significant change doesn't occur, this career could flash and flame out almost overnight.
