The difference from the Cowboys OL and those in the playoffs

I have been watching most of the playoff games these past two weekends and the one thing that I see that stands out the most from the Cowboys OL and the other teams in the playoffs is that I see the other team's linemen blocking 5, 7, 10 yards down field. They get involved down field beyond their primary assignment and are looking for someone to take out of the play.

The Cowboy linemen seem not to want to get their girth down the field. I see more Cowboys linemen watching the play while the play is still going on with their hands on the hips while their teammate is getting clobbered.

I hope this behavior is corrected next season, or else we're in for another dissapointing season.

It all starts with the man at the top (Sprano in this case).

Anyhow, I'd be happy if they didn't turn the DL loose on nearly every running play - getting a block downfield would just be gravy at this point.

It seems I have this perpetual image in my mind of Larry Allen watching the play go on with his hands on his hips after his initial block (or wiff). The other limemen seem to think it alright to do the same. You're right about Sprano, so someone ele should be couching the OL.
