What's everyone's thoughts on how Parcells will call this one.

If Bledsoe thought he saw some blitzing yesterday, just wait until this weekend.

It could get really ugly, however I was pleased with the adjustments the defense made yesterday after oakland's first quick scores. to put them up 10-0.

Thoughts?

My guess is Parcells will do the opposite of what we should do and try to keep the game close because that is how he thinks this team will have the best chance to win.

The Eagles are coming off a tough road win, hopefully their gas tank is a little low.

If not...Errrrrr.

He'll get outcoached then...again. Andy Reid will call at least 40 pass plays with half of them deep routes to T.O.

Nothing will change. Parcells is convinced that his way will be successful and he won't change it.

We have an opportunity to blitz the heck out of McNabb since the Eagles running game is non-existent but I bet we spend most of the game in the nickle trying to limit what TO does rather than forcing McNabb to make mistakes or run for his life. If you give any QB all day to wait til a receiver comes open then he will have a big game against us.

Without a solid running game of our own the Eagles will blitz Bledsoe mercilessly. If we can hit a few decent runs early then it will draw their focus to stopping it and open up some play-action passes for us. That will be a tough job because the Eagles are pretty good against the run although they are nowhere near as big in the middle as the Raiders so we should do better than this week at least.

I honestly don't see us winning this game. But that could be a good thing since I thought we would win the two we lost so....

We will keep it within 10-14 points most of the game, then they will score late to put it away. They simply have better players than us everyhwhere on the roster, and are coached at least as well if not a little better.

We come out 2-3, then win the next 3 games.

I like the match-ups between us and the Iggles. This is a good chance to get our season back on track. If we wanna wild card we'd better win the rest of our home games. That means against the Broncos, Chiefs, and yes Iggles.

Eagles are going to embarss the Cowboys period.

To beat Bledsoe over load the run on 1st down put pressure up the middle and take away the deep routes dare him to throw it to the underneath wr/te

Rotate from Blitzing and cover 2 will be the main schemes used

Yeah, this moment was inevitable. But believe it or not, we bot feel the same angst!

I'd like to try to look at this together, from a positive perspective -- I hope even the most hard core among you can hang with with me toward that endeavor.

I think for the ost part both teams survived their last games without sustaining any major injuries to available key players. As such, I think going in healthy is a positive.

Both Eagles and Cowboys have good receiver corp (e.g., KeShawn, Patrick Crayton, Jason Witten, etc); and they are healthy! That's a positive too!

Eagles and Cowboys both have healthy running backs (e.g., JJ, and Barber).

Cowboys have the edge on the QB position; Bledsoe is healthy, while McNabb has the sports hernia -- for you, that's positive.

Not so Positive Schedule:

Sun 10/16N.Y. Giants (FOX)NoonPurchase TicketsSun 10/23@ Seattle (FOX)3:05 p.m.Travel PackagesSun 10/30Arizona (FOX)
The Giants have been crushing teams and the Cowboys will have to play "at their house."

Overall, I think it will be a very good game: win or lose!

Good hunting and before I forget ...come get some ...

Oh...we'll be getting some alright.

You just wait until we open up the arsenal on you guys.

BTW, don't even think about throwing to TO deep, or else it could be curtains for our defense.

Seriously, we lose this one, but I just hope it's not of the MNF variety of last season. (ie. 16 second plays)

Jeez, just hand it to em'. We still have a team that can stand toe to toe with the best. Our coverage was as good as you could ask for last game. We have a pretty good chance, since our weakness against is against power-backs. Westbrook we can handle. All we really should stress over is our offensive line.

Both of us are experienced enough to know that anything can happen. T.O. will have to have the largest pair of cojones in the NFL to come across the middle; knowing that Roy Williams will be lurking in the wait:rolleyes:

I am already playing 'Taps'. This game is lost. You see the eagirls yesterday. They have heart, fire and talent, and TO. Our guys are so afraid to make a mistake they take no chances out there. The eagirls will take our best shot and not even blink. Then they will proceed to kick our butts all over our house. Man, this will be ugly.

Common opponent different venues. The Eagles barely beat the Raiders in Philadelphia needing a last minute field goal to pull it out. The Cowboys play them tough to the last series in Oakland and just miss a win. With the raiders backs against the wall looking at 0-4 if they lose. We get the Eagles at home. Could be the difference.

I'm usually pretty optimistic. I bought into the whole 10-6 theory this season. I know it's early, but there's no reason to think the offensive gameplanning will change. Sure, the defense as a whole did a good job against Moss and Porter yesterday but when they were called upon to stop Jordan, they couldn't since they had no help.

I believe Zimmer should keep the same gameplan this week as one of you mentioned Westbrook isn't a big, bruising back, however don't think McNabb will test the Boys deep once every drive.

That sounds interesting Morasp -- I'll buy into that concept. Let's be sure about a couple of things ...

The Eagles will not understimate the Cowboys! While we only beat the Raiders by a few points, we shut down their run game and limited Moss; but we won the game! The Eagles will take the COwboys much, much more seriously. That's because your are an NFC-East team, and the NFC-East is a lot stronger this year than In the past.

Like the Eagles, the Cowboys are also a "comeback team." But unlike most of the teams you've played thus far, the Eagles will engage in aggressive offense from kickoff until the gameending whistle. That could be a promblem if the opponent team faces a dominant defensive squad -- and that's exactly what you'll be facing.

The good news is that historically, the Cowboys have always played good defense against the Eagles; however, the not so good news is that you've not had so many rookies on your defense, and your pass defense is not strong enough for the WC offense -- that could make the difference. Andy Reid and the offensive coaching of the Eagles totally focus on creating mismatches and manipulating rookies in the defense.

I'll buy a one-TD win either way (giving your team the benefit of doubt because it would not be pretty being 4-1 in the NFC-East at this time in the season and looking sown the road at your schedule.

No matter what; good hunting!

the eagles pass defense is really good. they allow teams to run but tighten down as you get in the redzone. they dont give up a lot of big plays. so even though teams move the ball on the ground, eventually you get into a 3rd and 8 or more and they shut you down.

i see the cowboys moving the ball and taking the little things the eagles will give you until they get to about the 30-35 yard line, then when the eagles D tightens up its going to be difficult. i dont think we will be converting on 3rd downs unless we have 3rd and short. their corners are pretty physical and they are going to be right on Johnson, i dont know how effective his style of play will be against them. They wont let Glenn get open deep cause they'll have double coverage there and the eagles safeties can cover well.

Its going to have to be a big game for witten and/or crayton, those are the guys that are gonna have to make the plays for us to move the chains. dont think passing to our backs will be effective at all against this defense.
