The Eagles Jalen Hurts problem

Jason Kelce was the leader of that offense not Hurts. Read and pointed out the defense for Hurts. All Hurts had to do was make the call outs. Got into so many battles with Philly fans that Kelce and Graham retiring was the end of their championship window.
Totally agree.

Except for the fact that they won the Superbowl after Kelce and Graham both retired.

Then Graham UNRETIRED once he saw they were heading for another Superbowl and jumped back on the bandwagon. And of course...he's still unretired and likely going to play for them this year

But aside from all those errors...your spot on.

I hate that this article came out

Every other year, Jalen Hurts is on the "hot seat" and getting negative press. Both years that's happened in the offseason, he's taken them to the SuperBowl the following year, almost out of defiance. He seems to have a burning desire to prove people wrong and make them eat their words....and he does it.

What we should hope for, is that every offseason he gets tons of praise for being a great Top 5 QB. Every offseason THAT happens (after both of his SuperBowl appearances) he has had down years (thus, the negative press that follows, which we see now)

Why am I the only person having to notice these things and come up with a game plan to derail their season? You people are feeding right into them. You're basically helping them to have a great year.

And aside from the error that Graham never retired before we won the 2024 SB

This is very true. Now think about the fact that Jim Kelly had four chances at winning a Superbowl, yet Nick Foles and Trent Dilfer won a Superbowl in their first try.

Crazy huh....
Jim Kelly is the QB that shrunk in the big games. Bash Hurts all you want, but he showed up in both Super Bowls.

And for the record, never compare any QB to the black hole of talent that was Trent Dilfer. Anyone comparing him as an equal to any other SB winning QB doesn’t know football. Dilfer is the outlier of outliers.

One of the worst QBs to win a SB ever…
Front office built a heckuva team around him and they have the NYG to thank for the final piece

2 Super Bowl appearances, 1 win and SB MVP
I know right. Some people genuinely comparing him to Trent Dilfer! Hilarious.

Hurts has 21 total touchdowns and 3 interceptions in the play offs.

In the regular season he has 173 total touchdowns and 45 interceptions.

He balled out in two Superbowls, winning one and winning Superbowl MVP. He was favourite to win league MVP in 2022 until he did not play the final two games.

Trent Dilfer threw more interceptions than he had total touchdowns ffs!!!

It’s better than not winning a title. Like the Cowboys and Dak, the Eagles gave him a NTC. He’s not going anywhere. He is still young, 27, so maybe there’s some progress to be made.
W/ the beating he takes, more than likely we've seen the best of him and it's downhill from now on.

Hurts was never a good downfield passer into coverage. That's why I couldn't believe people thought he took a jump from 2021 to 2022. He did no such thing. He was the exact same QB. What took a jump was the run game. In both seasons they went to the SB they had outstanding run games. Hurts rarely had to throw into coverage. Everything was 2nd and 4, 3rd and 1, and throwing 8 yard slants to AJ Brown in m2m coverage. The occasional deep pass in m2m. Defenses were playing the run. On top of that, he had an outstanding roster around him and a good defense.

Think 2019 when Lamar and the Ravens had a great year. Fantastic run game with the QB running. Similar situation. Lamar is good, but not that good.

Hell, I think it's already doing that. This is their Super Bowl QB, the face of the franchise, a $50M player being dragged through the mud off leaks from the FO. Going to be interesting to see how/when they address it coz as of now, his lockerroom leadership is questionable at best.
The story of their impending demise is overblown.

When a team has a Roseman or Les Snead as GM they are never far from competing at a high level and they retool real fast.

Its the Rams and Eagles most valuable assets.

Just shows you and the average quarterback can win a Super Bowl

I agree with this 100% I mean they may have a small dip but it won't be for long as long as Roseman is there

I can't wait till we're good enough to hate on again.
I told the story a couple months ago. "back in the day"....when I wore my Dallas Cowboys tee, I'd get dirty looks and sneers. About 8-10 years ago I started getting apathy, maybe a smile.

Now I get pity. It's a kind of joyous pity, if there's such a thing. But it's been so long they don't remember their hate...they only see me with pitiful loyalty.

Wearing a Cowboys jersey in a bar back in the day would get you constant abuse from the fans of the 31 other teams.....now they all buy you shots to heal from the last 30 years

The Eagles have a major CAP problem coming in 2029 with Hurts. They can avoid part of it by moving on from him because he is getting two $50 million option bonus in 2027 and 2028.

But, didn't they win a SB with Hurt at QB?

Hurts has made a living moving the chains and not making mistakes. He's never going to be a prolific passer. The Eagles built the correct offense with a stout OL around him to maximize what he can do. Changing it bc they have a pouty wr makes little sense. They had OL trouble last year with a ton of injuries.

I can be wrong but I think that's exactly what they're planning on doing moving on from him
