The Eagles Jalen Hurts problem

They literally won the Super Bowl after Kelce retired
you are correct. these last few years been blurred for me. 2025 was the year when the Chiefs had like 6 rushing yards because the Defense shut that completely down and he kept throwing interceptions. Thought Kelce retired 2025. Then i have no idea why Hurts regressed this year. Was OC really that bad?

So you make a post claiming to know exactly why and then when fact checked, you now ask others why?

Oline injuries probably had as much to do with it, but yeah the OC was bad

Jim Kelly is the QB that shrunk in the big games. Bash Hurts all you want, but he showed up in both Super Bowls.

And for the record, never compare any QB to the black hole of talent that was Trent Dilfer. Anyone comparing him as an equal to any other SB winning QB doesn’t know football. Dilfer is the outlier of outliers.

Well anyone who acts like a Superbowl is just a quarterback's record doesn't know football. Im not saying that you are one of those people, but im talking about the people who say "HE won a Superbowl, HE loss a Superbowl, HE never been to a Superbowl".

No quarterback in history has ever made it to, won or lost a Superbowl by himself.

So when I mention Trent Dilfer, Nick Foles, Kaepernick, Rex Grossman, etc, then its fair game when people mention what quarterbacks won a Superbowl or took their team to a Superbowl.

So according to the logic of many here, Trent Dilfer has to be respected as a Superbowl winning quarterback. Something some great quarterbacks have never done.

He can actually talk about what a deep playoff run feels like. And give you a stat-line from playing in multiple Super Bowls and Championship games.

Dak could NEVER
Whether you want to admit it or not, put Dak on those Eagles teams and he has at least one ring as well. Hurts made some plays, yes, but all he had to do was execute, avoid mistakes, and the superstar team around him did the rest. When Hurts did not execute and did make mistakes, well look, it showed.

Dak is a better QB than Hurts. To suggest otherwise is clinging to an agenda or being willfully ignorant. The Cowboys as a team have failed to come up clutch in the playoffs. Yes, including Dak. But Hurts could fail to come up clutch and the Eagles would often still win. Because everyone around him elevated their games.

Tell me when the last time was the rest of the Cowboys (and the coaches, for that matter) elevated their games in the playoffs? Dak has been a part of it. I readily admit that. But he has not ever been the ONLY one at fault.

The Eagles are a better managed franchise than the Cowboys. “To suggest otherwise is clinging to an agenda or being willfully ignorant.”

Okay but where did I suggest the Cowboys are better managed? I know the Eagles are better in that area and just about every fan here knows that.

Some notes from @JFowlerESPN’s article on Jalen Hurts:

- pushed back on changes that would diversify the scheme,

- wanted to avoid playing under center

- reluctant to let it rip at times, particularly against zone coverage

- poor body language, not always bought in

- not the most coachable and the players notice

- diverts from the game plan and changes playcalls to an excessive degree

Jalen hurts biggest problem is he is limited. You can only do certain things with him. When are the eagles best? When he’s running the ball first not throwing first. Teams adjusted and his contract looks bad now.

Hurts has very real limitations. That limits their scheme and the plays they can run.

He just happens to play on an insanely stacked offense.

To his credit. He is clutch and isn’t afraid of big moments.

But his throwing limitations can and do hurt their offense.
This. This. This!

Just pointing out that no amount of adverse quarterback issues at the quarterback position on the Eagles makes the Dallas Cowboys any more able to compete for a Super Bowl.

I agree with you. But for some reason there are those QB’s that can’t take advantage of a good situation. Looking back at those Bills teams with Kelly, it’s almost difficult to believe he didn’t win at least one. Swap out Dak and Hurts on that 2024 Eagles team and I believe Dak finally gets to wear a ring. Jerry sure as hell isn’t building a team like that.
