The earlier TO makes an impact the better for all Offensive playmakers

We took a huge risk and paid big bucks to TO to be a playmaker. Despite me not being a big fan of the guy, I think getting him involved early will drastically help the running game (Julius in particular doesn't do well in heavy traffic IMHO) and Witten and Glenn in the passing game.

Despite him perhaps not "deserving" it with the lack of practice, missed meeting etc, I would still throw to TO early and often in the Jax game.

If TO is seen as a healthy, and back to his scary playmaking weapon reputation early, and PERCEIVED as a focus of the offense, I think this will open up things for our other skill players on offense more quickly and actually help the team achieve the balance on offense. It doesn't matter if TO is the focus or not. We might see fewer 8 men in the box if TO catches a few early, and then perhaps we can get the running game flowing. Glenn is the not so secret weapon that just gets better when TO gets attention.

I also feel the Boys need to call a bunch of those short and mid pass plays until the Oline can show it can hold up. If Crayton is healthy I would actually prefer to see 3 WR's and 1 TE because I think Fasano is still adjusting and making mistakes. Crayton also offers some nice Yard After Catch potential to complement TO. Once Fasano shows he can be consistent, then I'd use the 2 TE formation more.

Just some thoughts.

I've been thinking the same thing. The sooner TO shows his stuff with a star on his helmet, the sooner he helps the entire offense. Like you said, it's the perceived threat that will open things up for others. I hope he and Bledsoe develop immediate chemistry, despite the reduced practice time they've had together. Everyone is criticizing Jerry Jones for bringing in TO. I hope Jerry gets the last laugh.

A TD by T.O. on the first play of the game would do it! Something like that would have a dramatic effect on the other team...they would hang their heads, tuck their tails between their legs and walk back to the sideline thinking, "oh, oh...here we go"!

But, then after the TD, Vanderwhack would come in and miss the extra point...!

I think they should take their time. We need to make this a team effort. Not the Sherrell Show. The NFL needs to be put on notice.

This is exactly what I was thinking (I guess great minds think alike).

Opposing teams will play Owens differently until he and the Cowboys prove he's a potent threat.

His missed time in training camp will cause opponents to make the Cowboys prove he's up to speed.

Therefore, I would get him involved as soon as possible and make them worry about him all day.
