The early game thread

Brady coming out like a bat out of hell after that drubbing last week. Wowza. 3 TDs in the first QTR

It was a pick play, tho. NE specializes in them.

Yeah, now we have to hear the sports media saying that the Patriots will go undefeated this year again.

yes I'm biased but I think Romo is quickly becoming the best commentator on TV. His knowledge, first hand experience, likability, etc, IMO, is above the rest. We're on CBS only 2 times this season, wonder if he's on assignment.

You're right. You're biased.

isn't that his role though, to bring the Xs and Os?
But at the same time, you have to be a broadcaster and presenter for TV as well. Romo is no doubt smart but most analysts out there could probably do the same thing if they wanted (ex: Troy). As an analyst, you have to find the balance between being a good presenter and not turning it into a film session because like I said, it's still for the casual fan who tunes in.

They probably gave Romo the OK to do it in week 1 to show off his knowledge and give him credibility but I wouldn't expect him to keep doing it every week now.

Saints look like garbage, going 0-2, I can't remember if Payton signed an extension recently

I bet CBS told Romo to stop it with the play recognition...not good for the "casual fans" to be spoiled on plays live, they don't like the X's and O's talk.

I highly doubt that. Romo is their main guy and he received a lot of hype after last week because of how he shares his knowledge. I bet they told him to just keep doing what he is doing because people love it.

Got Romo for the main commentary - this is like Mozart.

He just said Brady is going to have a big day. I took his advice and put a small wager on Brady throwing over 2 TD passes.

Brees must be unbelievably frustrated.

For years, he's been watching on the sidelines as his defense gives up play after play after play.

He's classy. He doesn't say anything. But he must be beside himself at how incompetent his team is at putting together a decent defense.
