Was listening to two interviews done by the Eagle's announcer, the highly respected Merrill Reese. He had these things to say:

"Zeke is the MVP this year. Not every running back can deliver the goods, even behind a great offensive line. I don't know what else he can do to prove that he will be the best running back in the league for the next five years if he stays healthy."

"The Cowboys with Dak Prescott are in very good hands. Dare I say best fourth round pick in recent memory?"

"Tony Romo has been a very good, and at times under appreciated QB in this league for may years, but it's clear that it's time to move on to a new future for the Cowboys. I can't see why Jerry Jones would even consider playing Romo again. The future for Dallas is on the field, and that future is very bright indeed."

"The Eagles will not be able to compete with the Cowboys unless they get serious upgrades at the WR position. The only Eagle receiver worth a starting role is Jordan Matthews."

"Ryan Matthews is probably finished in Philly, and Darren Sproles can't stay young forever. Does Ezekial have a brother?"

"The Cowboys are the team with the best chance to deny Brady another ring."

I don't recall any Giant or Commander announcer giving us our due. The Eagles may hate us but they are pretty honest in how they assess other teams (A-hole Howard Eskin is the exception, who never misses a chance to call our fans in Philly cockroaches).

This will be a good game for Marinelli to try a few new twists in the d...hone the new found pass rush and blitzes also.

As for the Offense, try a few new plays also. But 1st and fore most protect Dak, as Tyron Smith will be held out as a precaution.

They say DeSean Jackson has already said he is leaving Washington and going back to Philly in the offseason.

Bet the Washington Commanders love knowing that even before the season ends. rofl.

CLASSY!

Yeah, but he weakens the Commanders, and doesn't really strengthen the Eagles....depending on draft and FA of course...but Jackson we do no fear.

It will be interesting to see if the Eagles mail it in this weekend. Teams often have one foot out the door in week 17. You could see some teams like the Jets got an early start for the door last week. When organizations make decisions to bench their starting QB for fear of a salary cap crippling injury (and fire their coach), you know week 17 means nothing. Others may decide that losing just helps draft position.

The Eagles have a weird situation because a loss only helps the Browns in the draft and they hate the Cowboys, but there is also nothing to spoil for Dallas outside of some injuries (pulling a Bounty Bowl move on our kicker doesn't seem like a Peterson thing).

Don't be shocked if Dallas rolls even with backups.

They are just looking for a soft spot to stick the knife in!

The Eagles will be out to prove something and will be taking cheap shots all game. Thats what they are and always have been.

Iggles will play dirty and look to head hunt, and hurt our star players.

They want to mess around ... we should remind them that their future lies in a rookie QB who cost them a boatload of draft picks. It would be a shame to see him lying on the turf with a broken leg.

Murray had superior numbers to Zeke and was not even considered an MVP player, but Romo was.

A philly loss will help the Browns with the first round pick (and 4th?...they may have traded the 4th rounder also...not sure). In all other rounds, a loss helps philly. I will certainly be rooting for Minny...philly has their first rounder. A Minny win would put them at 8-8, so philly would have a mid first pick. If Minny loses and ends at 7-9, philly could be significantly better off, depending on how the other games shake out.

In a city without much of it, Merrill Reese is a class act. He loves his Eagles, but he can still be objective too.

I don't expect that at all. The Eagles and the entire city of Philadelphia hate the Cowboys.

This is their Super Bowl.

They will have every motivation to beat the Cowboys this week.

The Eagles screwed the pooch by starting Wentz right away. Their WR's were all high draft picks and went about where they were expected to go in the draft. In other words, they're not likely to ALL be that bad. It's either bad coaching or bad QB'ing or both.

However you want to slice it, Chip Kelly destroyed the Eagles' receiving corps. Say what you want about him as a person, but Desean Jackson was one of the league's best deep threats there and often times gave the Cowboys fits. And Jeremy Maclin was a solid, dependable #1 receiver as well. Kelly's arrogance cost them both.

Their current receivers coach Greg Lewis may play a role as well, but the receivers aren't without a large share of blame. They've been awful.

Substitute Jets for Eagles and Pats for Cowboys. That game was 41-3 last week. Lots of players are thinking about their offseason vacations.

My wife's family is from the Philly area. Plenty of tickets are being offered and their fans couldn't be much more apathetic about this week's matchup. They are far more interested in the Vikings-Bears game.
