The entire Defense needs to be called out

I have to say on Sunday I was a bit surprised to see our defense get winded so fast. No matter what camera you looked at they showed different players sucking wind. That led me to believe that they didn't put alot of cardio or high uptempo stuff in practice this week and it showed. It's like the defense thought they would just repeat week 2's performance with little effort.

Marinelli needs to go. I'm tired of the flagrant misuse of corners. We have man to man press corners and how many time is this moron playing zone? This hustling mentality is great and all, but how many times are defensive players over pursuing? How many times do we get overloaded to one side and then get gashed the other way? It's happened time and time again. That's on the coach. We were having success with the 3-2-5 and went way from it. We had success early blitzing and went away from it. You know we had to get pressure up the middle against Bradford. His man crush for Hayden is disturbing. Dude is the worst DT in the league. **** Rod. Go take your bend and break defense somewhere else.

We actually run man much more than we play zone. We are a predominantly press man team. That is part of the reason that our turnovers are down.

Posts like this make me scratch my head. They showed a very telling graphic in yesterdays game. And that was yards and points by quarters for the defense. This defense gives this offense 3 quarters to win the game. They basically give up minimal in the first 3 quarters. But to anybody who watches the game and remembers after for the first 3 quarters in every game this yr, the defense has given the offense the chance to run away with every single game. Even that Patriots game. Dallas defense dominated until late in the 3rd quarter. They get gassed because this offense cant sustain drives. You cant keep sending your defense out there with 3 and outs and expect them to hang for 4 quarters. This defense is ranked 14th in the nfl. And thats with a horrible offense. Thats pretty amazing. I dont think people realize just how bad this team has been on offense. Clearly this poster doesnt. If you take anything away from my post, you remember this. This defense has to play the perfect game, because the offense and special teams make so many mistakes. Cassell played a good game but what probably kept this team from winning the game regulation? could it be that pick 6 he gift wrapped?

So if the opposition can get a pick 6 then why can’t we?

I eight games this season we’ve generated four turnovers three of which came in the first Philly game, so in the other seven games we have one turnover.

On the other hand the other teams have three pick 6’s against us only one less than our entire total.

How about the defense give a bit more of a helping hand to a struggling offense???

Oh! And maybe carry over their play of the first three quarters into the forth.

silly scipio...it never has before. lord knows the players come in here to get an honest critique and a good calling out is just the ticket to wake this defense up. i heard that hayden does come in here and he went back to the group and said "guys, hell...this just took a huge turn for the worse. you see, we just got called out on the zone and that can't be good..."

i player fainted in depression knowing he caused suck a rancor of disappointment here and had to be taken to the emergency room for an extended stay. it was sweat and go through the night but a few dozen IV's later and he was back vowing to never let the zone down again and EVER and he means EVER be called out again.

we need to do this more often.

It's not new, the Boys defense has been doing this for most of Romo's tenure.

lol really? What dont people understand about the human body having a limit? This offense was wore down the defense to the point of exhaustion in every game this yr. The defense has given the offense a chance to put every single game away this yr. Even the Pats game, but the offense hasnt been able to do anything. Playing like that sooner or later the opposing offense is going to tire that defense out. Its just reality. People bashing this defense need to get a clue. Could be. In man coverage, you are going to have fewer opportunities because you are not facing the line of scrimmage as much.

In Marinelli's big turnover seasons in Chicago, they were predominantly zone.

Could be a case of a leopard trying to change their spots because of the emphasis and commitment to improving the rush that they believe let them down against Green Bay.

This year it looks like they have depended on the pass rush to get home and at least force errant throws.

Last year it was 32:51 to 28.02.

yeah because incase you didnt notice eagles run a gimmick fast pace offense

Point being Dallas was going to win top because the eagles run a very fast pace. Dallas runs a 10 play drive they take 8-9mins off the clock. Before you post stats atleast know what ur trying to argue. using the TOP argument you destroyed your own argument.

Anyone who thinks this defense has been playing well and doing its part.....Wow....I don't even know what to say.
Every time we've had a lead, the defense gives up an immediate score; every time we tie, the defense gives up an immediate score; every time we need a stop at the end of a game to try and get a win, the defense caves. This defense cannot stop any 3rd or 4th and 1 because they are not stout enough upfront, and McClain doesn't want to throw his body at anyone for some reason.

This defense has some players who should be performing better, but overall, the defense is awful. We've come to expect a long drive for a score on every opening possession of the game or half and certainly at the end of games. Maybe the supporters of the defense should consider that offenses are playing extremely conservative vs. the defense or they'd never get off the field. When the other team needs a score, they have no problem getting it.

And what was that conversion of the 3rd and 18 last game when we were about to get the ball back in great field position?
