I'm extremely disappointed in the defense. The defense was better last year. A lot of guys need to go.

Meanwhile the Cowboy offense, ranked #5 for the past two seasons in scoring, is now ranked 26th. They have not been ranked that low since Dave Campo was the Head Coach and Chad Hutchinson was the quarterback.

Last season the Cowboys scored an average of 29.3 points a game. This year it is 20.
Last season the Cowboy defense held opponents to 22.9 points per game. This season they have held them to 16.5 points a game. Of course, the offense has given opponents an average of 1.8 additional points through scored turnovers.

The defense has held opponents to less yardage per play this year as well. Turnovers happen more frequently when the opponent has to take risks but they are rarely behind to the point where they have had to this season.

The offense is stalling, They have their opportunities but fail to convert.

The defense can't get on the field and score for them. The offense has to produce the points and they haven't.

Somebody didn't tell the Giants and Philly defenses they couldn't score then, as they have 3 pick six against us.

You think if our defnese had taken a leaf out of their books we might have a win or two?

It never ceases to amaze me people can't see it takes the entire team to win and constantly blame one side or the other.

There's no excuse for how badly the defense fades late in games.

Other than the Falcons game, we're either dead even with our opponents in TOP or way ahead. Usually, we're way ahead. Even with our crappy offense, we're still holding the ball the majority of the game. Our average TOP is just over 34 minutes.

What do you expect to happen? You can't just ask a defense to hold over four quarters. Especially against high octane offenses. 20 points should be enough to win a game. No the defense isn't elite, but they still have held up pretty well during this streak. The offense has been putrid and that's being kind. You can't score in this league you can't win. Simple as that.

The only good defensive performances were the Giants and the Seahawks, the offense gets the blame for both of those games. I'll even go as far to say they held out okay against the Patriots all things considered but the Falcons, Saints and the Eagles were mostly on the defense especially the Saints and Eagles considering they had one job in OT---hold the opposing team to a field goal or less, not give up a big play. I believe the main reason we are on this skid is the record breaking lack of turnovers, not Tony Romo. If our defense could get at least a turnover per game(is that asking too much?), I feel we would have won at least 2 of the last 6 games and 2 wins would be enough for us to be right in the mix for this weak division.

I don't have the stats in front of me but I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints/Eagles OT games were the only long touchdowns we have given up all season.

i been thinking about this, so im going to throw it out there. The fans need to be called out. People, just because Dallas drafts them, doesnt mean they are going to the HoF or they are the next best thing. Simple. Another thing, 1 good play doesnt mean they are going to the HoF either. Some players suck. Get used to it.

Thats my PSA for teh day some of you get it, for the rest YOUR WELCOME!!!!!!

which brings to light again...what the heck is scouting dept. doing....they were a bunch here claiming McClay is the brains behind our drafts and Garrett is a nobody....at this point. we can't draft any player outside of 1st round. then should we just trade every pick 2-7 to get a first round pick....we will have more success hitting on viable players than the current rate

" I think the biggest issue on defense was simply not being ready. Not being lined up like we needed to be. When we were lined up, we played well. The most important thing against that team is to get lined up."

who is responsible for this? isn't it the DC, that should have been coaching or aligning his players? with Lee out who is the defensive captain that aligns all the players. we have a lot of weak links on the defensive side. this defense was overhyped and/or perhaps we were overly hopeful that its going to take the next step. they have not.

I'm extremely disappointed in the defense. The defense was better last year. A lot of guys need to go.

The D was better last season because we had great QB play and the leagues leading rusher which kept the defense off the field an average of 13 fewer plays than in 2013. Having 2 MVP candidates at QB and RB kept the chains moving controlling the ball which kept the defense fresh. The Cowboys were ranked 7th on offense last season and they're currently 17th. Most of us knew a less efficient offense would put the defense on the field more causing them to wear down in games. We're having to depend more on the defense due to a less effective offense.

Even last season we saw problems with the defense when they had to spend too much time on the field. The Cowboys were knocked out of the playoffs last season in a close game with the defense looking like what we've seen all this season. The same problems with the defense we saw against the Packers has been the problem all this season despite several personnel moves that included our 2 top picks and adding Hardy.

I know facts are super tough for many of you. But facts are Dallas only gave up 13 points. Got 2 turnovers.

Offense got 6 points in the first half, then nothing.

The offense didn't do much but like every other week the defense gives up points when it mattered most. No pressure on Winston at all. All game long. We got beat by two rookies Winston and Evans.

I dont know about the D but JJ Wilcox needs to be called out again for not containing Winston. What was he looking at? It wasnt like he wanted to tackle anyone.

This game isn't on the defense.
:hammer:

The defense held the Buccaneers to 3 points for practically the entire game but they take the blame for the loss??? Bryant missed a sure first down catch to sustain a crucial drive and secure the game but it's the defense fault???

And the defense still would have found a way to lose even if the offense was clicking.

What aren't you understanding? This defense simply has trouble adjusting to an offenses game plan.

The offense will be a different team next week. It was up to the defense to hold things together while Romo and Dez were out. They failed, for seven games straight.

The defense held Tampa to 3 points for the entire game until the end. A competent offense would've already been up by 3 scores at that point and the late Tampa TD would've been considered "garbage time" points.

What aren't you understanding about 2 turnovers and holding the bucs to 3 for most of the game should be enough for an offense? Or how about the offense not going 3 and out at the end of the game, giving the bucs excellent field position? How about capitalizing on those turnovers everyone was fiending for? We can't score more than two field goals on one of the worst defenses in the league?

......and I don't want to hear how they only allowed 13 point to opponents the last 2 game. They have failed to make key stops when it matters most and they don't have any excuse! We all believed Hardy and McClain were the missing key pieces and once they returned, our defense would be a top defense. That hasn't happened. We all thought just maybe our health defense could pick up the slack an win us a game or two. That hasn't happened. Lee is made of glass and needs to retire. There is no excuse for McClain to be overweight and out of shape. No excuse for the coaches to allow that. No Excuse for them not being prepared for the Eagles fast paced offense. Crawford I stealing money as is Church. Marinelli has the talent but has failed to have them playing to their potential. Someone needs to rip some anus!

Don't call them out, just cut them all !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goes for the coaching staff too !
