The entire Defense needs to be called out

If our defense were playing at this same level AND getting turnovers consistently, I'd be really pleased with them.

The lack of turnovers is appalling.

While it looked very unimposing, 10 pts should be enough. Call out the offense and the coaching staff too.

Sorry, but blaming the defense for not making a stop is BS. When do you draw the line at the defense making a stop at the end? .
When they do it just one time all season. Just show you can stop a team one time with the game on the line and maybe I'll believe. The offense stunk, but whether we are up 3-0 or 31-30, that final possession is still the key to victory, and to date, our defense hasn't done the job a single time. We are not a good team, with or without Romo.

Well, my son and I watched the game per the norm. Our joint comments are we don't blitz because we don't have players that blitz well enough to get to the qb. Our secondary play as far as the safety positions go suck. Sure Heath got two interceptions, both on tipped plays because we actually had some luck on both of those. Bad QB play by their rookie and we lucked out and got the picks. The true Heath was on the last play when he know he can't cover the guy or he has zero ability to play the receiver and locate the ball in the air. Heath as always been a core Special Team guy. Beyond that he is a liability most of the time. The only thing he does great it seems is catch tipped balls and line himself up correctly.

Far as offense goes, DMC gets you at the most a few yards after contact. He is about as shifty as most old running backs who have had the crap beat out of them. Our line isn't blocking great, but its not blocking that bad. We need someone who can make some players miss. I'd like to see the running back (Martin) playing for Tampa play with our team. We need a back like that.

They stopped them... The offense didn't move the ball at all.. It was the offense's responsibility to do something with the ball when the defense gives it to you..

They both folded.. Defense isn't suppose to win games in this offense-oriented league... This isn't the 90s...

Maybe your definition of stopping them is different than mine. We had the lead despite a pathetic offense and Dez's drops. TB drives to a winning TD on their final possession when a stop means we win and a FG means a tie. Late in games or in overtime when tied or ahead, our defense has yet to stop anyone at crunch time, including today. Offense and defense--neither is good.

Wow, God forbid they give up 10 points. The finger pointing shouldn't go any further than this pathetic offense and our so called star player TO 2.0

You cant blame the defense for this loss. It is the same old story. The offense moves the ball OK, cant make ANY big plays and cant convert enough 3rd downs to sustain drives and put points on the board.

Eventually the other team is going to put a drive a 2 together, to think otherwise is crazy.

I disagree. You can blame the defense....you can blame the QB....you can blame the offense.....you can blame the coaches.....you can blame the FO.....there is enough blame to go around for this cluster. The only three you can't blame is Romo Scandrick, and Dunbar.

Not to mention several crap calls on Carr and mo.

Really?

Atlanta, New Orleans, and Philly are losses largely in part of in todays nfl.he defense.

So, you have this D holding off Wilson and Winston? Yeah, truly phenomenal.

This was the 1 game that you really cant put on the defense. Holding an offense to 10 points you would usually expect to win in todays nfl.

Anyone who thinks the defense did something special today is nuts.
We had TB inside their own 10 four times and never forced a punt that would have given us great field position. Instead, we let them out of the hole every time to flip the field on us. They drove deep into our territory twice for scoring opportunities when Heath of all people intercepted tipped passes. Then they gave up the TD.

Poor teams only look like they have decent defenses because other teams play very conservative against them. Yet every time we score, other teams have no problem answering. Every time we have a lead, other teams always score what they need when they need it to win. That's not a good defense.

Is that why we lost? No...we lost because we stink. We are 2-7. We are what our record says we are. Cassell is worse than Weeden, and it was a mistake to move away from the guy who had two training camps with us for a bum after two 3 weeks. Cassell threw another panicked pick six today that was dropped by the LB it hit in the stomach.

His Dez-ness dropped two huge 3rd down passes that killed key drives....one in scoring territory and one to milk the clock. Maybe he needs Romo to help him shine...he is a physical beast, but even in man coverage, he gets no separation. I hope he drops a few pounds next year for more quickness if possible.

Last year we beat a lot of poor QBs to go on our early run, but even the Rams with Austin Davis score 31 points on us. This year, we still can't stop anyone to secure a win. Yes, the offense can't score, but this makes a bunch of games where the win was on the line for one defensive stop, and the defense has failed every time. It's everyone's fault.

We are not a good team....period. The difference between last year and this year is that we don't have Romo to win the close games for us in the late fourth quarter or to move the chains at the end to keep our pathetic defense off the field at crunch time.

Please show me one game this year in the NFL where A team won a game having only scored 6 points (just one) The defense shut them down for 58 minutes and all the offense could do was muster up 6 points.

Blame the D all you want to. But the truth is that the current teams in playoff contention didn't get that way by scoring no TD"s every game and relying on their D to win games where their O can even get one TD. Not going to win many games with a game plan of scoring no TD's on O and then hoping that your D is going to hold a team to 3 points all game.

Ten points wouldn't haven been enough for Tampa to win if the O could get a TD while the D was holding Tampa to 3.

I guess allocating resources and depending on them to be better, and allowing the leader of the engine which propelled us to 12-4 last year get away, hasnt worked out now, has it?????????????

dont worry joebobby, with this improved defense, we wont need to win TOP. its reckless to pay a little more money for an older RB.....cant you see that???

right,...........................

When you are playing a team like the Bucs it shouldn't come down to the final possession. Give this defense a decent lead and learn how to catch balls on third down and the game has a different outcome. I will ask you the same question I asked earlier. Please name one team this year that has won a game after scoring only 6 points? This defense has dealt with a garbage offense that has had multiple turnovers in a game, thrown a pick 6, and now a team that can't even score a touchdown in a game. We are ranked 28th in the league on offense. Find something else to ***** about. The defense is ranked 16 in the league and will be much better with a consistent offense if Romo can help provide some stability.

Okay, so the logic seems to suggest that if the Bucs had scored All ten points in the 1st half and the score ended at 10-6 then the defense is off the hook.

On the other hand, because the Bucs scored the winning TD at the end of the game then the defense didn't do their job?

The should be no change in the level of intensity from the first drive to the last because they are giving everything they have each and every second they are out there.

The defense held the Bucs to 10 points, they did their job. That TD should have been a garbage score if the offense had done their job. Heath's penalty should have been totally irrelevant at that point.

I seem to recall that 4 of the guys on our offense today were Pro Bowl selections from last season. How many on defense?

The Bucs were ranked 29th in the league in defense being scored on 29th!

Four of their last five opponents scored 30 or more points!

This offense is a disgrace and a year ago it was elite, perfect chemistry. But then somebody was convinced we didn't need the leading RB in the league last season, the guy who broke Emmirt's single season record.

So for the first time in the history of the league, the leading rusher for a season didn't play for the same team the following season.

This goes all the way to the top. No matter how well this team is built, it will never be maintained by a GM that never was, and never will be qualified to run an NFL football team.

Legitimate potential destroyed!
