now since we have all figured out what is wrong with the Cowboys, like they suck, let us turn our attention to the ESPN TV broadcast in general.

First off, I turned my TV to watch the Cowboys/Giants "Football" game. Here is what I got, and chime in if I missed something:

1. Don't care about musical performances by ANYBODY. I'm there to watch "Football". It took them 15 minutes past the 7:30 start time to start the damn game. Had to watch Hank, since the marketing geniouses thought we are feebleminded and needed to be entertained. No I don't.

2. I got the message that Tikki is retiring after the first mention. I don't need to see his interview IN THE MIDDLE OF THE GAME WHILE IT IS FRIGGIN PLAYING!!!! Good muther of god ESPN!!!! And did anyone count how many sideline shots we got of him, WHILE THE GAME WAS STILL BEING PLAYED???

3. I don't care about the retired Emmitt's Dancing career, during, again, a FOOTBALL GAME!!!!

4. why do they continue to bring Hank into the booth, "during a friggin Footbal game?

5. Troy and Rayfield got one minute and one question, and ESPN had to rush away from them, to get that T.O., Bledsoe, and Tikki sideline shot for the 40th time. All this while the damn game is going. GAWD!!!!!!!!

6. Hey Announcers, Emmitt got the rushing record in Dallas, Stupid.

I'm done, got to go back to work, but man that whole presentation had to have been produced by Opra's female producer. Get the BALLS back into a TV Football production, PLEASE!!!!

there is so much more. Oh, quit promoting all your ESPN and ABC shows during the middle of the game, while there is play on the field.

I'll admit - I wanted to shoot Emmitt. Just shoot him. And thenI wanted to shoot Theisman, who claimed Emmitt went to Arizona to get the rushing record. And then I wanted to shoot Emmitt again because he did not correct him.

My TV is lucky I don't own a gun.

The whole MNF production is a complete abomination right now. No question about it.

Atrocious broadcast. With Korny calling TO the devil to Theisman being the idiot he always is.

To Emmitt being interviewed while plays are actually being run and having the black guy (don't know his name - who cares?) give me a radio play-by-play ON TELEVISION.

ESPN blows in all facets now.

How many times in my life time will I put the TV on mute when Emitt is on the TV screen??? Basically, I had my TV on mute 80% of the broadcast. I just couldn't tolerate it. It's just not football any more.

When he got hit and fumbled the ball and lay there motionless ... I yelled: "retire that!!!". My sister said, he might be hurt. I didn't care. I didn't feel ashamed. We were playing like crap. The broadcast was crap. And I had to sit through it.

The day when somebody doesn't know the name of somebody white and call him the "white guy" is the day that I'd like to see come about.

Well, I've done that with plenty of commentators. I'm neither black nor white.

If it was JB, I wouldn't have said the "black guy" because I know who he is. But when you don't know what his name is (first time I've ever seen the guy), and you got two moronic "white guys" in the booth, that's how you contrast it.

memo to all the complainers. try sitting through a MNF broadcast with Raul Alegre. i had the chance to watch kornheiser, tirico and theisman last night and even though i agree theisman is a baffoon, espn's use of the broadcast to promote all of their abc shows is a major pain in the rear. it still beats raul & co and the espn's international broadcast and their promos of copa libertadores.

My .02:

Kornheiser got to the point where he was absolutely ridiculous with the Owens bashing. He was so prejudiced it almost seemed like a parody. He made sure to take the negative slant on all things T.O. during this game, from the sideline shots to even his most miniscule reactions and body language.

The whole game really had a feel of a preseason contest in the 2nd half, greatly aided by the cutaways to interviews in the middle of the game that were mentioned, to guests in the booth, etc. Romo being in there also made it feel that way, just because I'm only used to seeing him in exhibition games.

I commented in the game thread on how difficult it was to watch ESPN's coverage last night. It's too bad the Brad Sham stream was so far behind the broadcast. I wanted to cut my sound down and use that but there was a large time lag. I'm glad the Cowboys aren't on Monday night again this season.

I nearly screamed (would have if not for waking up the kids) when they did a montage of TO "yelling at everyone" on the sidelines. They showed four or five shots, including him "yelling at" Terry Glenn. I can read lips a little, like most people can. I don't remember what he said, but it wasn't anything derogatory toward Glenn himself. Basically, TO was frustrated (as he should have been, with the way the team was playing) and was venting. A lot of players do that on the sidelines.
