"Mediocre" would imply a record of .500 over the past 10 seasons.

Let's see if you can prove that.

Why is that the definition of mediocrity in the NFL ?

IMO mediocrity refers to lack of post season success over an extended period of time

The Cowboys are one of only 3 teams in the NFC to not even make their conference championship game in over 20 years

16 teams in the NFC
You do the math

By this, more meaningful definition, we are way way way below mediocre

There are excuses and then there is trash
That is where any defender of this FO and coaching staff is in my book

For the first time in a decade, my gut and heart are finally in agreement. Both organs are pretty confident about a 12-4 season.

- Garrett's back is finally..FINALLY against the wall (we saw it to a lesser extent after the 2013 season).
- Kellen can't possibly be worse than Linehan.
- Kris Richard will be in his second year and will have a bigger influence on the players he wants on defense and will finish off the scheme change in the back-end.
- Fredbeard is back.
- Armani has a full off-season with the team.
- Gallup is going into a WR's important Sophomore year.
- Connor has a full off-season to gain NFL-muscles.
- Randall Cobb.
- Robert Quinn

And most importantly....Van Jaylon is only going to get better:

I could go on, but I feel really good about this season. Some teams will take steps back and although the Cowboys under Garrett alternate every year, this will be a year where they put it all together for once. Whether that means getting past the NFCCG or not, I feel they're at least getting to that game. Go ahead and @me.

Well... playoffs last year... so I am guessing 8-8 lol.

This is the full seasons that JG has been at the helm...

Flatline...up... down...up...down...up

Now we can look forward to a bigger down...

With the team we have... if it is 8-8... some one needs to be beat up.

I got us 18-0.... Yahh I am saying it now!

Only 3 games I am nervous about. Rams, Aints and Pats.. None of the other teams out there can compare to us.

It is impossible to finish with that record.
There are 16 regular season games in the NFL.

It's fun to speculate, but who really knows? According to the experts at BSPN, we have a tough road. Archer says we will lose to the lowly Foreskins. My speculations:

The Pats take a nose dive, the old man Brady gets knocked out early in the season.
The Rams try again to treat our middle run defense like bowling pins, but throw gutter balls.
The Giants suck even worse than last year, Manning retires in disgrace.
The Packers also nose dive. The team is not happy with the prima donna QB.
The Eagles' Wentz goes down again, Philly fans go insane.
Roger Goodell gets run over by an irate Taxi cab driver chasing a fare skipper.
Jason Garrett claps harder, chews more gum, and slaps more butt than he ever has.
Cowboys record is11-5, win in the playoffs and make the championship game, Garrett gets fired anyway, Romo hired as the new head coach.

Just sayin'

You're being generous... lol.
Truth is the team should be measured on it's last 10 games.

At 3-5 going into Philly, this team was on the brink of failure and
inevitable dismantling (as the haters prepared to rejoice).
Then they finish the regular season on a 7-1 run, go 1-1 in the playoffs.
Hmmm. 8-2 in their last 10 games.
Even those hoping, wishing, for their supposed favorite team's demise
must admit that this roster and starting lineup is better now than last year.

Mike, I realize you already know this. Sometimes it just feels good to let it out... lol.

If we don't go 3-0 we will miss the playoffs. This team will be anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 if Dak takes the next step we will be 10-6 if he regresses we will be 6-10. So i guess my projection is what the Cowboys have been
8-8

I don't know if we've fully turned the corner yet, but when the schedule came out nothing really scared me. Sure some games were a bit iffy, but I didn't see anything that was a definite loss.

Pre-draft I'll go with 11-5.

9-11 easy.
Giants skins eagles bills dolphins jets lions is 7 wins right there. Not even counting a sweep of Washington and giants that’s very likely.
