C'mon.

It's obvious why nobody is talking about this guy having a good game. All signs are pointing to him having beat Henson out of the #2 spot. And A LOT of you guys are bitter because Romo most likely earned his keep.

But this thread is for the people who saw Romo's game. Saw him make the throws. Noticed his composure and fiery competitive nature. And liked what they saw.

I gotta give the guy his props. And since my opinion isn't welcome in the other QB threads, I figured I'd start my own. :)

Give the guy his props - right here in this thread.

Props to you Tony Romo, you earned it!

Major Props to Romo. He looked really good to me. Great decisions, quick release, plenty of zip on the ball.

That toss to Crowder was as good as it gets!

yippee skippee....I'm real excited. I'd be just as unimpressed had Henson won the battle...it means nothing...they'll both be gone when we finally draft a QB.

I agree. This answers the question that Romo can be the back up. And Henson still gets to develop, so there's nothing to get your panties in a wad about, he wasn't ready.

Back to Romo. He's playing like a guy that knows what is going on - a guy with confidence, a guy that can execute and a guy that has presense in the pocket.

Where's all the love for Tony Romo?

Wow just what we needed another QB thread. And one that is obviously posted to start a flame war to. If peeps wanted to give Romo props they could easily go to my thread where I asked if Tony Romo could be our future QB.

You got 2 things right.

1. Tony Romo DOES deserve props for his play. He played good and showed big improvement from the last 2 games.

2. It is true....your opinion is not welcome in other QB threads.

But pride is a bitter thing. I don't see anyone swallowing it and giving Romo his props. Instead, they're just plain bitter that he played well?

What happened to all the "I root for the guys who wear the star" people?

Where are they at when a young guy bucks up and plays well?

I guess that only applies when it suits their agenda.

2. It is true....your opinion is not welcome in other QB threads.

From a guy who's all over the place with his opinions and is known for being a troll ... I'll take this as a compliment.

Don't get your hopes up though. My opinion isn't going anywhere.

Back to giving Romo props. Guy played a good game and showed great awareness etc. Romo CAN be a serviceable back up!!!

Banned,

I agree. Props to Romo for developing as far as he has to this point.

But forget Henson for a moment, if that is possible for you. Are you telling me you have confidence Romo could take over this team if he had to and we could compete with the top teams in the league? Do you believe Romo can be our future?

If you believe that, I certainly respect your opinion, but on that we will have to disagree. I believe NFL defensive coordinators would literally take Romo apart and expose him and his limitations and that is my concern with him being #2. It has absolutely nothing to do with Henson. I would feel that way if Henson was playing in Yankee Stadium tonight.

I just hope Bledsoe stays healthy and we continue to agree to disagree and we never know who is right. :)

Why such the negative attitude? Why not get behind Romo? If Henson had played better, why not get behind him? Why are we so down on the QBs on the roster? Why not let them play a few real games before jumping all over them or saying some snide comment about them.

How about a bit of optimism, I have waited a long time for the offseason to get here, and now that it is here, I sure feel good about this team .... for now.

That may change, but it is going to take more than a couple preseason games and a few practices to make me think otherwise.

I have a lot of hope/optimism towards the season (like every year). Now let's win us some ball games.

Oh yeah, props to my boy Romo!

My buddy was playing Madden '06 as the Giants and I made him trade Eli for Romo. Best trade he ever made.

I think almost everyone in here has given props to Romo and IS HAPPY he played good. It makes us all feel better if Bledsoe should get injured. Alot of us including me are real happy he moves the offense better the Bledsoe does.

Most of us are very happy. We are just not in the same position you are where if Romo came to a sudden stop your head would go right up his butt.

I think he is a legitiamate #2 QB and better than everyone not named Bledsoe on our roster. But I'm not gonna go so far as to blindly place the "future" label on him.

He's a keeper though. I'd keep him and see if he keeps improving. As of now, I'm comfortable with him taking over if anything happens to Drew B.

If you believe that, I certainly respect your opinion, but on that we will have to disagree. We'll see. I think he's ready for the NFL though.

I just hope Bledsoe stays healthy and we continue to agree to disagree and we never know who is right. :)

It all depends. If Drew B is the tin man he's been his past few years and the O line can't protect him, I'm all for other viable options.

I'm just glad it appears we have a viable option.

I don't care who's right,, you give that too much credence, I just want options to win games if the primary one we're using isn't winning games or gets hurt etc ..

My buddy was playing Madden and traded Henson for P. Manning ... and that damned Henson has a higher rating that Peyton. He's gonna be a player for sure.

Yeah I know what you mean. But it's not negativity it's really being realistic.
I believe that until we get the QB position solidified with a true NFL star we are eating the dust of the top teams.

Maybe we can trade for Kyle Boller. :D
