Bad:
-Zero intensity. Our guys just looked flat.
-the DL....I really didn't get a good look (streaming video) but it seemed Denver ran the ball effectively. Our front four didn't get good pressure (yes, we're a 34, but we rushed four)
-Jenkins...played like a rookie...but then again, our poor scheme did nothing to help him
-Romo: from practice reports and from this game, he really seems to be struggling. He missed two wide-open WRs down the field.
-second string OL....allowing too many sacks and hits in the backfield
-penalites...I really think it's ridiculous to see how many flags have been thrown our way. I would say that a lot of them are bogus...The second late hit penalty that got Denver out of a hole was just terrible.
-injuries

Good:
-Bennett played better
-Adam Jones looked a lot better. Great PR....and close to two picks
-Felix Jones....I just love to see him with the ball in his hands
-Miles Austin...Wow! He really showed something tonight. I'd love to see him get snaps with the first team three wide set.
-Zach Thomas...this guy makes a ton of tackles.

Really, Austin has shown me a lot. I'm down after this game. Not because we lost. But because Austin may have a pretty bad injury. Even if he missed two weeks, that really sets him back.

Dont you dare say Romo is struggling.dont you know he's the greatest and it's just preseason? thats the kind of sad thinking that comes from some on this board.

Yhea, I agree with you regarding Austin.

Let's hope he's o.k.

Also, our STs looked better this time around - which wasn't hard to do after last week! But still, our punt coverage was much, much better.

As for Romo, I'm not too worried about him. He'll continue to work hard and get his timing down with the WRs and TEs.

Suddenly, a WR combo of TO, Crayton, Austin, Hurd, and Witten looks even better than last year! And when you throw in Felix . . . . . this offense can be very, very good.

We just need a healthy Austin to help stretch defenses.

do you guys know why bartel was mad at bennett?
I saw him get upset with Atchison, not Bennett. I think Atchison forgot about changing to the hot route on a blitz.

I think bennett blew his pick up though, bartel pointed out both guys on his right and then when the ball was snapped both came free!!!

I'll also throw a bone to Pat Watkins.

Poor guy....this is the second week in a row he gets a pick only to have it brought back.

Both penalties were the correct call....but really neither penalty really had anything to do with the play.

Last week, Jones got tangled up, but the ball was overthrown anyway and Watkins was in great position.

This week, the ball was overthrown again....and Watkins made a good play.

It's already very, very good.

It has the potential to be legendary. I'm not just blowing smoke into your pantaloons, either.

I think Austin, when able to get back on the field, will pick up where he left off...

That rarely happens.

Remember Spears his rookie year? He was playing well before he had a knee injury. He never really seemed to be right the rest of the season.

Last year Hatcher was tearing it up, but he strained a hamstring, missed two weeks, and we never heard about him picking up where he left off.

Let's say Miles misses two weeks (an optimistic prognosis). His knee may be healed, but he will have missed two weeks of catching passes from Romo.

He's not a great route runner, this is something he'll have to start doing again. He's improving by leaps and bounds, this will only delay the process.

The team will move on....he'll have to play his way back up.

Much better effort from the special teams. I don't see many touchbacks coming from Folk, however.

I agree with you.

Austin needs all the reps he can get. He's still very inexperienced.

Let's just hope that he's only out for 2-3 weeks.
