Newman's play boggles the mind. Man, I'm tired of him getting beaten by inferior talent. It's absurd and maddening at the same time. He is victim of ridiculous catches at the worst times but boy he just can't seem to make a play when it matters.

He's not a bum, but he's rapidly approaching eminently replaceable.

Nnamdi would suck in this defense this year. Our db's are left with zero help from either safety. They are on an island and apparently coached to stand 10 yards off no matter what the down and distance is. That combined with no pass rush is just .... blah.

I am convinced the secondary is better than they have appeared. We CANT be that bad on defense this year.

They certainly could use some help from the pass rush. We need playmaking. Our guys don't even think in terms of getting the ball back for the offense. I am tired of it. I love Ware, but where the hell was he. I saw some holding, but nobody put Eli on his ***? He looks like crap when he is pressured, but our defense tonight wouldn't know it.

You joke but I'd love any safety who actually covered deep. I don't know of any other team where the CB's get burnt so much with no safety within a 20 yard radius.

The other Steve Smith is gonna make the Newman his bi**h next week. The real CB controversy is whether to make Newman the third corner, and let the two young guys get the experience, or continue letting Newman get burned by average WR's or committ stupid PI penalties.

Even after tonight Newman is still clearly our best cb. Jenkins and Scandrick get lost. Newman gets beat but at least stays near him.

Not that it is a HUGE difference.
