They don't score only 14 points in the Super Bowl.

They don't blow an unbeaten season.

They don't lose to the 5th best team from the so-called weaker conference.

Today answered the question of how can you have a dynasty in the salary cap era...the answer:

You are incredibly lucky.

When all else fails you cheat.

This NE would be 10-6 in the late 80's early 90's and would have never made it past the Bills.

Ever? Not even the greatest team of the 2007 season! The greatest choke artists of all time suits them better!

I still say the 1985 Bears is the best team I ever saw.

I still say the 90's Cowboys beat and demolished better competition than anyone in History and that includes the 70's Steelers who faced the Cowboys twice and that team went to 5 Super Bowls. You cannot underscore how good the 49ers, Packers, and Bills really were in that era. We took them to the Woodshed.

Yet the Bears, Steelers, Packers, 49ers and of course the Cowboys, all fielded better SB teams than these Patriots.

Go ahead and throw in there the supposed dominance of the AFC. All of that crap was doused with gasoline and torched tonight.

This was the best regular season I have ever seen, but they blew it.

Not in the conversation anymore, the 85 bears are the best team IMO, still.

I am not a big comparison guy though. I dont think any sb champion has to apologize for anything and where you rank them is pointless.

Yeah, I gotta say the '85 Bears team was scary. I still remember Reggie Collier looking like a deer in headlights when Richard Dent was running him down.

I'm "only" 40, but the 85 Bears are the best i've seen, at an age where i could be objective.

The '90s 'Boys team was bread by a tremendous division and non-division opponents. It's why I consider them the greatest dynasty in history, and it's not just because I'm a homer.

The Giants won the SB in '90, then the 'Skins in '91, then us in '92 and '93 beating a Steve Young let 49ers twice in NFC championship game (once on the road) while beating a team that went to 4 straight SBs in the Bills twice, lost to the eventual SB champions in the '49ers in '94 specifically built and cheated around the salary cap to beat us ;), then beat an up and coming GB team in '95 to head to the SB and beat the Steelers in '95 in the SB.

The 'Pats were the best team ever "in the media". That's about it.
