I think many of us were guilty of vastly overrating this teams abilities. Many felt Bledsoe could lead us, the defense would be 85 Bears-like, Parcells would will us to a championship, and TO would be a little angel...well, we were wrong.
At 4-4 we are playing just good enough to be in the playoff hunt and just bad enough to keep giving away wins...we are as the coach, that can really use a bro...manzeire, would say, "You are what your record says you are."
I don't see a magic fix on the horizon, after all we have been consistent in our inconsistency, for much of the Parcells reign.
What I do see is a future.
We may have actually developed a real QB.
We have a very good RB tandem.
Solid TEs.
Some young players with promise on the OL and at WR.
Tons of young talent on defense.
Parcells has played a big role in all of those things, but what we lack is a week in, week out coach like we saw in that Carolina game...Parcells can't do that, and that is what we need.
This young team...which Parcells put together, Thanks Bill...needs a young, vibrant leader to make us grow into the championship team we all want.
Our best chance for this season, is to forget all the preseason hype about playoffs and Super Bowls, move for the future by playing more and more of the young guys, and just turn it loose and have fun...play with emotion, play like it's 6 on 6 on the playground, just play.
