Heard it through a friend...Colin Cowherd said that he isn't buying "Romo & Cowboys Stock" because he isn't an "emotional investor." Says that Romo pads his stats against bad teams and that Wade Phillips is incapable of preparing our team to play on the road in cold weather in December...says that the Cowboys will fold and won't make the playoffs.

He also said earlier in the year that the Green Bay Packers would beat the Minnesota Vikings "handily" at Lambeau Field. Final Score: 38-26 Vikings. Oops.

Just an opinion I don't think much of.

No surprise here. We will keep hearing this until the Cowboys prove differently. The only people who can shut up guys like Cowherd are teh players and coaches.

Win the next 2 weeks and their tune will start to change.

CowTurd is and always has been a Cowboys Hater. We could win the next two Super Bowls and the year after that he would still be saying that he's not buying into this being a good team, and that Romo sucks.

The best teacher is history. The best lesson is hard one. Every year, the the Cowboys fans have been learning a hard lesson. History repeats itself until someone stands up and refuses to repeat it.

Until the Cowboys stand up and prove otherwise, I don't see any reason to dismiss what his says.

...doesn't mean have to like it though.

Cold weather has nothing to do with it. Dallas has rarely faced any true bad winter weather conditions over the last few seasons. It may not be that cold this Sunday at New York and weather won't be a factor at New Orleans.

Does not mean I have to buy into what he is saying either.

I tend to agree as far as Romo padding his stats against bad teams, actually. So far this years his NUMBERS have been pretty pedestrian against tougher competition with the exception of possibly Atlanta.

Right. That's why we lost those road games last year: it was the HC's preparation.

He's absolutely right.

Romo's Cowboys have failed in 2 Decembers since he's been the starter. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt in 2007 because honestly the Cowboys took care of business to the point where December was kinda gravy. Well it's December again and the Cowboys are going to have to play their way to glory. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me...

It isnt so much his preparation as his lack of leadership. The guy is just soft and doesnt demand respect or attention from his players.

You can argue all you want, but history shows that his teams have collpased every where he's been

Never mind the fact that Wade Phillips had a winning record as Head Coach of the Buffalo Bills, because... you know... It doesn't get cold up there. :)

I really, really, really hope that Dallas crushes it's December schedule this year, gets it's playoff win(s), and all that so this stupid BS would go away.

Everyone hopes that

Everyone was hoping that last year, as well

  1. If you're looking for well thought out analysis you do not go to Colin Cowherd. You can't get it there.
  2. I have no problem with anyone "not buying" Dallas as a serious contender at this point. I'm hoping. And I think its possible. But I respect the opinion that says "they cannot and will not" make the playoffs. This team needs to prove it.
  3. I suspect there is truth in the theory that generally speaking every player does better against weaker competition. Romo would be no exception. But neither would any other QB be immune to this. If anyone thinks that Romo cannot be a part of beating a good team in a critical situation... I think they're just hating on the guy. But whatever suits them is fine by me.
And what I like about this year's team is that fact that they seem to understand the above and understand that only actions will disprove the above. They're not distracted by it. They're just focused on trying to disprove it. That's all you can ask.

If they fail, it'll be a collective thing. They'll replace a few parts next year. And try again. But it won't be totally Wade's or Garrett's or Romo's or (insert your favorite punching bag here) whoever's fault.

Cowherd seems to be more about playing devil's advocate then anything when it comes to the Cowboys. He knows and admits (on several occasions) the Cowboys are a hot button. By taking the opposite opinion he knows it will generate a lot of discussion
