I beileve, not excatly the 91 Buccaners. In additon, they held the Indy offense to there lowest outputs of the season last year. Im upset like most, but then I came to the realization that we went in to a 12=4 teams back yard and lost. Would anyone have a problem with that if someone told that to you without telling who or what team we played? The Jags D is pound for pound the best D in the league. Look at there numbers last 3 to 4 seasons and that would support this. Vedry underrated team.

So this means what? we shouldnt feel so bad about this loss? BULL! We should have won and we should be peeved!!

If anything this was a give away game... Drew gave it away. Jacksonville did not win it... there is a difference... unfortunately a win is a win and loss is a loss... we are the latter this week

playmakers, it's a loss, noone ever feels good about those, esp. with so much uncertainty surrounding the 1st week of the season, people are anxious for football, regular season football is finally upon us...and we lose, there are questions, although the chicken-little **** pisses me off to no end, I'm not suprised

I feel your pain, but look at it from a point of view of we lost to a good football team. THat being said, we did beat ourselves.

Take a quick look at their opponents from last year....I think that most of their wins came against teams with losing records. One of their wins against a team that went to the playoffs was one when the team that they were facing was missing their starting QB.

Let's face it....today, we crumbled.

I think you guys are missing the point.

So what if the Jags were 12-4 last year.

The Cowboys could have been 12-4 IF we didn't have bonehead meltdowns like Sunday.

Convert the third drive of the game into seven points and Jags are playing catch up.

But what happens ...

Bledsoe misses a wide open TO.

Bledsoe misses a wide open TO - AGAIN.

Turn the ball over to the Jags.

Miss field goal.

Down hill and the snowball gains momentum.

This team, once again, beat itself.

I could stomach the "Jags were 12-4 line" if they had beat us from start to finish.

But this game should have been over by the first quarter.

We let another team stay in the game and find itself while the Cowboys are once again questioning whether they're a better team or the 9-7 average bunch of last year.

Looks like last year's team to me. We'll see in the coming weeks.

Excellent post.

When are we gonna learnt to put teams away... after that first series we should have taken them down... and as usual... we didnt... just tryin to survive games is killing me.... "eye of the tiger baby... eye of the tiger"

It's not the loss but how they lost. This game looked like a continuation of last season. Predictable play calling, not being able to put a team away, average to below average O-line, vanilla defense that can't make a stop when they really need to, kicking game, and interceptions at key points in the game. Also the fact that the opposing team seemed to adjust as the game went on while the Cowboys could not. It looked exactly like last year, which was the disheartening thing about the loss.
That said, I didn't exactly expect them to go to Jax and pull out the win. Hopefully the team can pull together through this adversity and get stronger as the season goes on.

Dude, you're being a sore loser and a bad fan. Give the Jags props on playing a good game. Don't try to hang the whole game on Bledsoe, because he certainly wasn't out there playing defense.

Not being a sore loser. When we get beat down and lose I will say just that. Here I will give you an example that you will like. Last year the 2nd time you played us... you really beat us.... unlike first game. There is no sore loser in explaining the game as you see it. You have never claimed that the skins gave a game away.. I think not.... be honest....

You cant pin this on the defense because 14 points came by way of Bledsoe's INT's. You can only partially blame D for that.

No props for the Jags... if we took care of business the game would not have been close.

You being a Skins fan - you only get one lesson from me for free.... next one you have to pay for...

Sorry man, when your QB puts your defense in multiple bad situations cause he's ******** and also not giving them time to rest in a very humid climate cause of consistent bad decision making, it goes on the QB more so than anyone else. Most definitely more so than the defense, and yes, unfortunately, on the Jags team as well. I do give the Jags credit for exposing Bledsoe though. They made the plays that Bledsoe gave them. Also just attacked him and made the entire offense crumble, which lead to the defense crumbling down the stretch cause they're so freakin tired.

I really hope this game plan by the Jags exposed badsoe enough to lead to a very early Romo insertion, it's our only hope. This team has high hopes for reaching the post season and in the post season, game plans become super crisp and weaknesses like Bledsoe will be exposed with no remorse, there is basically no chance for him to be successful with this team we have now, we need Romo for our offense based on what we have now.

sure they were 12-4 last yr, against a pretty easy schedule...then they got stampeded in the playoffs and Leftwich was pummeled into the ground by Belichick's defense in a miserable 28-3 loss

they lost Jimmy Smith and 3 of their best defensive players were either severely limited or went out of the game completely...it was a terrible season opener no matter how you slice it
