the inconsistency, the botched opportunities, the constant circus atmosphere that surrounds this organization, and the failure to win anything of consequence in more than 20 years is making it less and less fun to be a fan of this team.

i still care, but i have to deaden my feelings to prevent a loss from ruining an entire week, and that sucks. i hate that i have to mute my passion for the team just to keep my head on straight.

the joy of being a fan is waning, and it won’t come back until this team shows that it’s for real again.

I stopped getting too wound up over it awhile ago....and I mean either way- winning or losing.

I can't control what happens out there. I look at it like a never ending movie that I'm invested in. Nothing more, nothing less.

As far as recent years go- I had lots of fun during '07, '09, '14, '16. Had high hopes for this year but it was not meant to be.

The last 3 games are the worst 3 in a row that I can remember in the last 10 years or so (while having a good roster).

Wouldn't be surprised if someone important gets canned after this.

the sad thing is that garrett will still be here but somebody will have to be sacrificed for him and we'll be saying the same thing in 5 years, calling for some coordinator to be replaced

You realize this is almost the entire existence of many fanbases, right?

Browns, Lions, Jets, Vikings, Saints, etc.

Cowboys fans have been spoiled. Even during this 22 year drought, only 6 times were we out of the playoff picture in December. We've rarely been awful in our entire history.

Fair point, but something about this feels extra deflating. Agree with the OP and cant quite figure out what makes this different than some other frustrating times.

Is this what it's come to? At least the Cowboys haven't been terrible the last 22 years?

Up until the point Jerry became the unquestioned GM in full control of the roster, the Cowboys were the class of NFL -- the league's premiere franchise.

Now they are a team that doesn't suck.. most of the time.

Most NFL teams suck most of the time in the free agency era.

Sure, but we've still got a very young talented team that needs new direction. Many fanbases are hopeless.

Dak is diffidently off. Those picks he didn't seem pressured.
I didn't see the first half only the last quarter but I'm surprised I know his young so we'll go from there.

This is worse than the 88 and 89 seasons.
It feels worse than the 85 season even. We were 6-2 and Danny White was having a great year, probably one of his best starts. Then his broken wrist and the season went down. Then the team went down from there over the next few seasons.

But then we were expected to have a few down years. Then people realized it was time for Tom to go, and it took selling the team to do it.

This, time no sale of the team, but Jerry sure can make a coaching change and has to. But he won't. That is why this and the next few years will be worse than any of those other seasons.

Very very glad I was able to sell my season tickets before last season. As now no one would touch them or want them. I got out just in time.

As long as Garrett is here, we're going to be pointing fingers here and there to the same results. This is Jerry's fault and he won't change unless his pocket books are affected.

Is that supposed to make us feel better? Fail.
