OK, well, we'll see how that goes. Too bad key players on the team aren't on board with that philosophy and they didn't exactly do a great job playing through the turmoil once those players spoke up this year.

ANY player, and I don't care what position he plays, what his name is, or how much he gets paid. Any player that would rather ***** about his own personal stats over winning a Super Bowl can hit the damn road as far as I'm concerned. It's pretty obvious we have far too many selfish players on the roster that would rather ***** than win. That's our main problem. The players that fit this mold don't put in the work to avoid the stupid penalties and mistakes.

Winning cures all evils...how many times did they say that after the Giants game this year.

It doesn't matter how much TO pisses and moans about touches; if we are winning, nobody will care.

This team will win by being a smash-mouth run the ball team. Its the way we are built. Until Garrett either accepts that or is no longer calling the plays this team will struggle.

We've got enough of an image as primadonnas off the field to play that way as well.

is very simple in my opinion. WE HAVE TO RUN THE BALL!!!!!!! Going into next season, we should have the best threesome in the NFL at RB. You look at the teams that year after year seem to have the best playoff runs and it's teams that play good defense and run the ball well. We have an O line that I think could be road graders like our O line of the 90's, but they're more concerned with pass blocking because we throw the damn ball too much. It puts our O line in too much of a passive/defensive mind set IMO. This off-season our coaching staff needs to concentrate on run blocking and utilizing what I think are our best offensive weapons: our RBs. If we can get our offensive team in a smashmouth mindset, I think we'll be much better off. The best friend of a QB is a good running game. Running the ball more and more effectively will instantly make our passing game better and will take some of the heat off Romo and the O line. Is it just me, or is this pretty simple? Football coaches paid millions of dollars should see this.

I couldn't agree more. Also, we need to take those 11 draft picks and draft a backup QB, and guard or tackle. Then use the other 9 picks on defense and let the competition begin. The teams that are still playing are 1, 2, 3, and 9 in defense. This plus running the ball will improve this team. Its not players its coaching, scheme, and preparation.

Running the ball successfully against Baltimore would've kept our defense off the field some and they wouldn't have been dead tired when it mattered in the 4th quarter. Come on. You've got to know a little more about football than you're showing. I agree that the penalties and undisciplined play have killed us, but football is pretty basic. Line up against the other guy and whip his ***. We don't do that. And because we dont' go that, we lose games we shouldn't lose. Don't get me wrong, I'm not for three downs and a cloud of dust. However, if we don't start running the ball effectively and efficiently, we're gonna end up every season like the last few. ANYONE with any common football sense knows we rely far too much on the pass and that gets us in trouble. Running the ball more and more effectively will also cut down on penalties, since most of our penalties are on passing downs.

They had plenty of time to rest in the 4th quarter of that game.

Dallas was holding the ball and putting drives together.

The 2nd 70 yard run came on the 1st play after Dallas had scored, kicked a field goal, went to commercial, kicked off, went to commercial again, then a 70 yard run occurs.

Being tired has zip to do with those 2 long runs. Especially with the way we rotated guys in and out that game as well.

We do rely on the pass to much. I agree. But thinking this team isn't going to find miraculous ways to lose a game just because we run the ball more is crazy.

Dallas is currently choke artists (you are what you are). They will find the most crazy ways to lose a football game.

Handing the ball off a few more times wont change that.

With the 3 Rbs we have, it'd take a mighty stupid OC to *NOT* game plan that revolves around the run game.

Let's face it, any of the three guys could start the game and keeping a rotation of guys (even limiting carries during the season) could/would leave them healthier for the late season push/playoff run; unlike this year where we finished with one healthy RB.

The question is, does Garrett have the brains and guts to instill a run heavy offense? You can't just draw up generic plays and hope any of the 3 can run it. They're 3 very different backs (though felix/choice are a bit similar), so you have to gameplan different plays for each, take advantage of their strengths...

we know that taking advantage of players' strengths is not something Garrett's done well (so far)

I agree. With the RB we have Dallas should rely more on the running game and I think in doing to the passing game with become more potent

I really don't think running the ball is the key to next season. I think protection is the key to next season.

Now, variety in the running attack, and getting the RB involved in the passing game is definitely important though and we have not seen that. Romo needs a 55-45 mix pass to run IMO because he is a rythm guy.
