ALLEN PARK, Mich.(AP) The Detroit Lions signed cornerbacks Tony Beckham and Ike Charlton and wide receiver Kevin Kasper to one-year contracts and released wide receiver Craphonso Thorpe on Wednesday.
Beckham skipped the 2006 NFL season after playing for Tennessee in 2002-05. Charlton spent two seasons with Winnipeg of the CFL after playing in the NFL for Seattle, Jacksonville and New York Giants.
Kasper was cut by the Lions after two games in 2006. He has played for Denver, Seattle, Arizona and New England.
Thorpe signed with the Lions on Jan. 1 after playing on Detroit's practice squad.

If Thorpe were to ever knock his parents out, he'd be wise to hope I made the jury pool, 'cause I figure he'd have all the justification anybody would ever need, just in the name they hung on him...

I do a kids camp every year and we had a kid a couple of years back named Farte'. His middle name was something like James, but he went by far-TAY'...

I used to know a guy named Richard Smalley. I kid you not... he chose to go by the name "Dick". He was an older guy - maybe 55 or so when I knew him. He didn't even crack a smile when he introduced himself.

Like all these hollywood stars that name their kids all sorts of weird things. Never caring or thinking about the BURDEN they inflict on their kids.
