including players who may or may not be cut

Quarterback

None

Halfback

None

Fullback
Jerald Sowell (It's pretty much a lock)

Wide Receiver
Terrell Owens (It would give us a 3 headed monster that no defense could shut down)

David Givens (Texas native, and young receiver, I seriously doubt we go after anyone who isn't a clear cut #1 or #2, Givens isn't much better than Crayton)

Based on what we said about receivers, I don't see us doing much here in either the draft or free agency, other than the possibility of getting Owens. They made it clear that they're not going to sign someone who will become the next Peerless Price. In terms of place on the team. If they pick someone up they'd have to be much better than Crayton. And the only FA receivers out there that fit the bill, we wouldn't go after.

Tight End
None

With the CBA extended, I think we simply resign Campbell...

Offensive Tackle
Jason Fabini (Parcells Guy, but I hope we don't get him, he is old, and injured, and it wasn't like he was a pro bowler before he got hurt)

Tom Ashworth (Can play both left and right tackle well, and is very young. But I see a lot of people going after his services)

Kevin Shaffer (My ideal pick, this dude is for real)

Mike Williams (Maybe Bledsoe will convince Parcells to bring him in, but would he even want to?)

I think we really were going to go after Jeff Backus. But now I don't see Jones paying all that much for a tackle. But I don't see us waiting for the draft to address right tackle. It just won't happen. Expect one of the four to be signed, and I wouldn't expect Mike Williams. I have to hope for Ashworth.

Offensive Guard
None

I don't see us going after a guard this year, not unless we cut Larry Allen, and I think we'd have already done that if we planned on getting a guard to upgrade over him. I wouldn't mind getting someone like Tutan Reyes myself. But that would be more for depth than a starter role. The only upgrade in free agency would be Hutchinson and he has been franchised.
Center
None

Yeah, I honetly don't think we're even going to sign a center. They're probably going to give Gurode and Johnson another chance at it. I really don't think we're going to pay for either Mawae or Bentley. With Mawae coming off a back injury, I don't think Jones will have anything to do with him. And Bentley is going to get a huge pay day. It just isn't realistic to think that we would get him. Hartwig is a slight possibility, but hardly the upgrade we would be looking for.

Defensive Tackle
None

I don't see us signing a defensive tackle. I see it being between Thomas Johnson, and someone we draft. I don't think we would release Glover, and then sign some big name tackle. We might go after some depth by getting someone like Kendrick Klancy, who already has experience in the 3-4, and is pretty young.

Defensive End
None

We're pretty stocked at Defensive end, I don't think we'll even look at the position in the draft let alone free agency. We have Ratliff, Ellis, Spears, Canty, Ware e.t.c. Numerous ends for numerous looks. We're clearly not going to tie up any more money at the position. Do we still have Ogbogu?
Linebackers
Akin Ayodele (a lot of people have mentioned him, but I don't see him being a fit for the outside, he isn't a seasoned pass rusher, I could see us moving him inside, but he is going to be a pretty highly sought after linebacker)

Willie McGinest (Parcells Guy, might get served up because of his cap charge, perfect fit opposite of Ware).

I could maybe see us going after Tommy Polley for the inside. It is evident we're going to try to answer the position in the draft as well as free agency. We need help inside and outside. That outside spot is pretty key in terms of the future of our defense. I'm really hoping we can land McGinest.

Safties
Lawyer Milloy (Parcells Guy, probably too old and pricey at this point though, would make a devastating match with Williams)

Chris Hope (I think that is the favorite among us fans)

Corey Chavous

Will Demps

Marcus Coleman (Parcells Guy, the most likely pick)

We honestly have a lot of options at safety, I can't see why we can't get this done.

Kicker
Adam Vinatieri (Parcells Guy, pretty unlikely at this point)

Matt Bryant (Probably the most likely)

Joe Nedney

Adam Longwell (I think he is the fan favorite at this point)

We'll sign one of these four, bet the farm on it.

Anyone that I left out?

Solid post.....Great effort.

I don't really disagree.

But my question....I may have missed something. But why is Sowell a lock? Does someone have insider info?

And, is Backus a FA? I thought I heard somewhere that he resigned....Maybe I'm imagining things again.

Backus was franchised by the Lions.

Sowell is a lock because its a perfect fit. We need a lead blocker, and an upgrade at fullback. And Sowell needs a job.

He is also a former parcells player from the Jets. And he isn't going to cost a lot to bring in.

Just like Jason Ferguson was a lock, I expect we sign him first thing saturday morning.

I think Sowell will be the first free agent we sign (oustide of our own free agents).

I meant that unless someone is a number #1 or #2, we're not going to bring them in here, because we're not looking for another #3.

Price was probably better than Crayton, but we didn't keep him because he wasn't good enough to get playing time. You would just rather develop Crayton or have Glenn or Johnson on the field.

Is it important to start getting some youth at wide receiver?
Parcells: "You know our receivers were pretty productive - the starters. I think we have a couple of young guys that could be in the three-, four-, five-receiver category. Now can they elevate themselves into the one, two category? I can't tell you that right now. I was thinking [Patrick] Crayton could do that earlier in the year, but I'm still not sure."
Do you see the team acquiring a big-named wide receiver?
Parcells: "I think that would be something we'd consider. That's not on the horizon now. You're just asking me questions, and I'm trying to respond. I'm not saying, 'Yeah, we're doing this or we're doing that.' "
What about Terrell Owens?
Parcells: "Well, this guy isn't even free yet, so I wouldn't know."

I think it's the "drunken idiot kicker".

I'm against TO, but it might be a necessary evil.

Solid post GB!

If Bledsoe gets asked about Williams how could he say anything positive about him?

He could say that he had a lot of potential, and that he wasn't coached well, or put in the position to excel. Much like Bledsoe in his final years in Buffalo...

I like Osaka Polite he has some youth and can keep getting better, nothing against Sowell but Polite deserves the chance.

To my knowledge, Steve Hutchinson was Transition Tagged not Franchise Tagged. That means that Seattle has the right to match any offers but, there would be no draft pick compensation if he left.

What do you guys think about Gerard Warren? I didn't watch Denver much at all last season, but I see that their run D was 2nd best in the league in average yds allowed per game. He has had a few character incidents in his career, but he is still young & huge (6-4/325). He was the #3 overall pick in his draft class, was an apparent bust in Cleveland (who isn't?), but from all indications did well in Denver.
I read an article that with the CBA complete, he is hoping a contract will be worked out for him in Denver... but, you never know.
Any thoughts on how he would look in a 3-4?

Wasn't Sowell already released - if so , and we want him, we could sign him today.

Same with Fabini.
