The long ball. Oh where oh where has it gone?

I can recall a day when we would see some pretty good 30+ yard passes tossed from Romo to an assortment of WRs. One thing really stood out today. Aside from the fact that we should have run the ball more instead of checking into the pass, when the long ball was thrown it was more of a lob vs the typical long ball I have seen Tony throw with touch. Did anyone else notice? There were at least 4 occasions where a good throw would have led the WR (usually Dez) that had a step on the dback. Each time, the WR had to come back to try and make a play to save an INT opportunity. Someone else has to have seen this. Has he lost the ability to throw the long pass with the touch required to be successful doing so?

One more thing... My mind is racing right now. While most losses are taken with a grain of salt, this one stung like those several years ago before I came to understand the environment that we currently have in VR.

This lack of ability to get the ball to Dez in stride on the long ball may affect his choice of whether or not to remain on this team when his contract is up. A passionate competitor can only take so much before empathy and desire for new surroundings sets in. Dez deserves so much better.
