The McFadden Throw

There was a mess at the LOS that held up Hanna's route; the LB started dropping before he broke past the LOS. Redesign the play with Escobar blocking down and Witten peeling off after Hanna gets past to clear that up.

McFadden is a good all around football player. He was a good cheap pickup

Didn't he have a really fast 40 for a TE?
Yea, fastest at the combine this year. That play not working had nothing to do with Hanna's speed...

And, not for nothing, but why the heck wouldn't you run that play to the other side, so that it's easier for mcfadden to throw? Good grief.

Was a little surprised but it Dmac got leveled by Frank Clark!! Wow! It's almost like a bag of tricks they use and they do one a game, but revert back to there normal boring stuff.

If anyone watched Peyton yesterday call the game in NO, that was a thing of beauty!!! That is a play caller!

Yes, they ran a Zone Stretch Right with at toss to McFadden. Clark was the backside DE and just ran across the formation unblocked to McFadden.

They should have had Tyron on Collins block back on him. It's not as if they really needed to get out to make a 2nd level block.

If McFadden could have waited 1/2 second, Hanna likely would have been wide open because the LB that covered him had a bad angle to continue coverage.

It makes you wonder sometimes. What did they think the backside DE would do if completely unblocked.

I was a big fan of Frank Clark in the draft. He ran a 4.66 forty at 271 pounds.

It just goes to show you how vanilla this offense is that when they do run a play like that, it seems so out of place.

I think they needed somebody with enough arm to get it to the end zone.

Dez can throw. End around with Dez flattening out. Run the same stuff they use on bootlegs: tiered crossing routes and a 9 behind.

McFadden's actually supposed to have a pretty good arm. Of course, under the curse of Demarco Murray, a play like that is never going to work out, though. We should have known better.

I don't know why we keep faking the jet sweep, if we aren't going to ever run it? You set that play up, then run it, then run it again with the dive and it keeps the d honest....

But if you always run the dive, they don't respect the fake and it's pointless.
