The media can't stop talking about T.0.

I can't turn to ESPN without hearing "How T.O. Will Divide The Cowboys" or "Who T.O. will have conflicts with" I personnally, never liked him before, and I don't like him now. I accept him because he wears a star on his helmet. As of now he's really not causing any harm to the team, but the media are like dogs waiting for him to slip up. He has to think smart, because if he messes up in Dallas, then I doubt any other team whould want him.

I agree. The media is going to push and push and push until they get someone to blow up.

Last week Sportscenter gave a teaser before going to commercial.....it was something like..........TO already causing trouble in Dallas............I waited for 30 minutes to see what the hell they were talking about and when they finally went to the story, it was a 10 second blurb on how he didn't go to a voluntary workout.

Worthless reporting in my opinion.

I hate the fact that they make you wait for 30 mins, to show a stupid 10 second report that @ the end comes out to be all bs and sumthing they're ''exploding''.

It's not just TO, anything the mediots can find that is shocking, controversial, "soap opera-ish" they'll run over and over again. See Barry Bonds. But TO is kinda unique because there's really nothing to report on. The Bonds scenario, the Duke Lacrosse team, all those have things actually happening right now. I'm kinda surprised that ESPN isn't really reporting on Sean Taylor's trial. That's supposed to start in a couple weeks I believe.

all it is is that ****** mort or whatever his name is making crap up. My personal opinion is that the guy has it against bp since he reported that bp was gonna retire at the end of last season and then parcells didnt and said something about the mediots not knowing what they talk about. So mort is probably sour about that so he talks about the "rift" to has caused at every oportunity. For instance have you noticed he is the only so called "expert" that they ever really have talkin about this? when i watch fox sports southwest report, they NEVER say anything negative about TO not showing up to voluntary workouts, which, by the way, he still has plenty of time to make up the needed amount of workouts. i just wish i had that lil smilie with the dog urinating and a pic of mort!!!

I think part of Jerry's selling the deal to T.O. was the line, '...and if you sign here, they will talk about you all year long. Guaranteed!'

He does have to think smart here in Dallas. Because here over most everywhere else anything that happens is magnified. In reality he could have just signed his own death certificate (as an nfl player) coming to play for such a visible team. It's one thing to turn the Eagles ballclub upside down, even a super bowl one, but an entirely different ball of wax turning America's Team upside down. I remember Irvin hitting the World News the day of one of his debacles as a Cowboy happen. The ONLY player I have ever seen World News talk about as a top story for something that didn't pertain to actual sports. I mean I'm sure it's happen a few times more then that, but just an example of how powerful and widespread that Star reaches. I doubt Owens name has ever been uttered on any World News broadcast.. Well, wait, it may just have very well happen when he signed with us, so I can't really say with certainty there. But I'm willing to bet he didn't push any top stories and come in as the opening story over war and tradgedy, like Irvin's shinanigans did. You can bet though that it's only a matter of time before he does if he doesn't tread that thin line very carefully.

I don't know whether to be mad at T.O. for skipping "voluntary" work-outs or to be mad at the media for making a big deal out of nothing.

No matter how much some media members say they hate or dislike T.O., no matter how much they may deny it, T.O. in dallas is the best thing to happen to them in a long time. Mostly the local media.

Like him, Love him, dislike him or hate him, they know that there will be plenty of things to talk about concerning him. Even if T.O. farts they will be able to make a story about how he is causing a Locker Room distraction out of farting, how it is hurting the team or it is him showing disrespect to the team.

No matter what they LOVE it because they know they will always have a story with TO.

They are also smart enough to know that bad news, no matter how minor, always sells better then good news.

I don't like T.O., I didn't want the cowboys to sign T.O., I can never see myself buying a T.O. jersey or specifically rooting for him as an individual...however I will hope that he helps this team win games and will at the very least give him a fair chance while he is here.

I bet you will want that half hour back on your deathbed.

If or when Owens or Parcells blows it will not be whispered about. It would be an explosion.

The funny thing is that all of these doomsayers will be waiting at least a year and might get pretty tired making up controversy. Hopefully, the novelty will wear off soon enough.

Well don't count on it, they are still talking about JJ and BP splitting or fighting after these years.

However chances are not too far fetched, one could say chances are good based on history, that T.O. will cause troubles sooner or later.

I honestly don't think he will for a year. He has some fences to mend in terms of his career. If he acts up the first year, he will be completely out of the league. He has to put up big numbers this year to reaffirm why he is the best receiver in the game.

I will put it to everyone this way. I watched the Eagles/Pats Super Bowl that I had taped just to see him at his worst. Even on that ankle, he was dominating and was running around people like they were standing still.

That is what a motivated Owens can do. And I think he will be very motivated to prove people wrong this year.

Now once Coach Parcells leaves, all bets are off. I do think he will behave for Coach Parcells and I think the two will respect each other. I don't think he had that with Mariucci or Reid. Besides, Jerry Jones has quite a bit of emotional capital invested here as well.

You guys act like it is the medias fault that they are all over TO, when in fact this is exactly the attention that TO desires and the reason he puts out rap songs and books and so forth.

This is what TO wants - he wants to be the center of attention. The problem I have with the media is that they cannot control themselves and they give this spoiled baby everything he wants.

They need to ignore that little spoiled brat that is screaming on the floor for his candy bar.

Just like I do my 2 and 3 year olds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No offense, but didn't you have a hand in creating that behavior in the spoiled brat?
