well we pass a lot... we can't keep having a revolving door at RT.Then you’re back to square one you need a starter next year and if Steele is cut you also need depth .

lol... we have the shatter defense. we can hold for a little bit, but at some point it's all gonna fall apart.Sadly we bend and break!
Steele is being paid starter money to play like a depth guy.Steele is a journeyman at best ,he’s really depth
Until the O tackle play improves on passing downs, or the coaches start doing a better job of designing plays, to make it easier for the tackles to do their job on passing downs, it will be impossible for this offense to reach it’s full potential.Steele is being paid starter money to play like a depth guy.
The talent is pretty mediocre, but the coaching is bad!!!!lol... we have the shatter defense. we can hold for a little bit, but at some point it's all gonna fall apart.
Their MO has been to sign guys like Adeniji for depth. But they have Cornelius too. It would be good to give him some reps this year and see if he has anything to add to the depth chart. But he is on IR for some reason. Then you’re back to square one you need a starter next year and if Steele is cut you also need depth .
During the Minnesota game there was aFirst of all, that's a huge difference between a player who is like a adopted son to Jerry, and Garrett he was here during the heyday years, Jerry was hoping he became the next Jimmie Johnson, some homegrown guy, who had a lot of latitude.
So, there are two differences, one we're talking about a head coach who should get more time and second Garreatt had stronger ties, I don't care what Matt did during the parcel's years or wherever he whenever he was here, he has not been part of any glory years..
That's the case why didn't he bring Mike Zimmer back, mike Zimmer had a better run here with the Cowboys then Matt Eber poo, Matt has no strong ties that Jerry would give him some big break.
the head coach for sure should get another shot, but a defensive coordinator he let Mike Nolan go, he easily can let Matt go he's already seeing it ,he just said well we'll see what these next three games, now Jerry's already made up his mind, and now Matt has to change it ,but Matt's already gone in Jerry's mind, But for some reason Jerry doesn't like change, so he's hoping that Matt changes his spots in three games, I don't think he should have gave him that vote of confidence, but that's what he meant....
Yeah, those are apples and oranges,
Garrett was an entirely different animal... ,
And he moved on from Mike Mccarthy, I mean if anybody deserved to stay around another year it could have been him his first year and last year were both full of injuries He was on a lame duck contract, but those three years prior; 36 wins ; 3 straight playoff appearances, I mean two division titles, if Jerry was going to play favorites, and want to have a guy stick around, it would have been Mike Mccarthy ,and they let him go...
I think Jerry is not only shocked but embarrassed and I'll say it when he made that statement we'll see what happens these last three games on our coaching decisions he already made up his mind ,now he's telling Matt that was a signal to all the defensive staff you better do something the last three games, you guys are already gone..
I'm with you on the aspect jerry doesn't like change after one year, but he's done it ,he's also cut players like Jalen Smith in the middle of a brand new contract in the middle of a season, let alone the end of a season ,he is capable ,and has done it,
but I'm with you I know there's a small chance he finds a way to convince himself matt needs another year.
here's my hope, Brian Schottenheimer behind closed doors is very adamant about how he doesn't want Matt here next year and that Matt can't do what he needs to to have a successful team in 26..
I feel that Brian Sottenheimer truly doesn't want Matt here, like you all say like he was forced on Brian ,then why not go behind closed doors and really tell Jerry things aren't going to work out next year if you keep Matt around, I need something different, give him a list of names let Jerry feel like it's his choice, but it Brian Schottenheimer does his job, if he truly does, we do not know his true feelings,
You all guess a lot but that doesn't mean that's how he feels, but if he truly doesn't want him here, I think Jerry will listen to him because I don't think Jerry is that sold on Matt, that if his head coach says ,I don't want him here ,and he's very vocal about it ,I believe he'll move on..
What are some crazy hypothetical scenario Matt EberPOO isn't here just because of Jerry and maybe Brian likes him, we don't know what's going on in their heads...
There are a lot of good young coaches that would jump at the chance to coach in Dallas. The problem is finding the best of the good ones.I think Jerry Jones’ reputation precedes him. Good coaches want autonomy. They want the authority to run the team as they see fit. Lesser coaches that do not have better choices will accept a job with the Cowboys. Guys like Flores have been around long enough to know better than to work for the Dallas Cowboys.
The reality is Jerry is lucky to have Schottenheimer and Eberflus. And he knows it. Cowboys fans think quality coaches are straining at the leash to be with the Cowboys organization. They’re not. It’s not a desirable organization to work for if you’re serious about your coaching career.
I agree and I think he's the type of guy that's going to do it say look if you want me to be successful you have to give me a different defensive coordinator let me get you a list we can compromise on it but I believe it can and will happen and I also know Jerry will listen he does listen to his coaches he listens to steven and will mcclay more now than he ever has..During the Minnesota game there was a
big play the defense gave up. The camera showed Shotty, right after the play. It seemed like he was looking toward Eberflus. He had a pissed look on his face. Like here we go again.
I hope Shotty is adamant to Jerry about getting rid of Eberflus’s.
At times, Jerry has stubbornly kept players and coaches too long.
According to many around here, that cap in your avatar is what is wrong with this team. Fans like you, buying or showing pride in your team, keeps feeding Jerry's ego! Lol...it's not anything you posted, it's you supporting your team, that is an embarrassment. We had 3 extra days rest. We were playing at home. We had just gotten embarrassed by Detroit. We had to have this win to have a realistic chance to make the playoffs. Minnesota’s QB had played like one of the worst starting QB’s in the league during the season. We had everything to play for, Minnesota not so much.
So what happens: Minnesota out plays us in all 3 phases AND we get out coached in the 2 most important phases, Offense and Defense.
I was most disappointed in Shotty and his Offense. I thought he would have better answers for Flores and his 7-8 man fronts. Like last week, Dak was under constant pressure. Dak and the offense were forced to attempt long field goal, after long field goal because they couldn’t convert 3rd downs vs Flores confusing scheme. We should have thrown the ball more on running downs with max protection, to allow are QB more time to pass, and excellent receivers more time to get open. Dak was constantly getting rid of the ball very quickly! Shotty could have helped out by changing the protections, and throwing on early downs more, and throwing the ball down field. Where was the slant and go to Pickens?
I will give some credit to Flores and his confusing D. He made us look bad on a lot of 3rd downs!
Our D was NOT surprising. Predictable and vanilla! A decent, even below decent QB, like Minnesota’s can thrive vs our D. How much did Carson get beat by on the “GO”
route, 7 yards. Our defensive players under Eberflus do not do their own job. On the bootleg our stupid LBer Liafou did not contain. Williams did not contain on the QB rollout when their QB throw the TD.
***This game was a perfect game to compare a basic vanilla defense, that is stationary before the snap, and predictable after the snap, to a defense that has a bunch of pre snap movement, and is not predictable after the snap. Also all the players are on the same page doing THEIR job!!!!!!!
Lastly, coaching MATTERS a LOT!!
We must have a DC like Flores. Send Eberflus packing.
Also, I am not sold on Shotty either. His pass protection schemes have been very shaky the last few weeks. It does no good to have, 3 awesome receivers when the QB has very little time to throw. He needs to help his mediocre tackles more, or move guys around( Bass at guard and Tyler Smith at OT). Why isn’t Tyler Smith playing tackle. He is better than any tackle we have. He has proven it!!!!
Any thoughts?
Jerry Jones is incapable of embarrassment. He is the biggest embarrassment we have and it doesn’t even resister with him. He’s isolated, delusional and doesn’t place winning above all else.We had 3 extra days rest. We were playing at home. We had just gotten embarrassed by Detroit. Not only are Eberflus' defenses vanilla and unimaginative, but it felt like everybody in the defense regressed.
I'm willing to give Shotty another chance with the offense, but the defensive side of the ball needs a major reset on the coaching side.
There are a lot of good young coaches that would jump at the chance to coach in Dallas. The problem is finding the best of the good ones.
Yes a few veteran coaches may shy away from Dallas, but I think most would take the job.
Also on Flores. He has sued the NFL. Jerry may be a little hesitant to go his direction. I hope Jerry gives him a shot to be our DC/assistant HC.

I disagree with this In years past maybe II agree there was that where he did his things his way and he wasn't gonna regret any of it but the last three or 4 seasons I'm seeing something different and last year was a disappointment because they had a bad record but he also understood the injuries were ridiculous and they didn't have Prescott this year much more frustrating having one of the #1 offense in a league in a lot of categories or at least top three scoring all those points making all those pretty moves he made to make that offense that good to only have the defense absolutely obliterated I guarantee he's embarrassed and he's having regrets and he's pretty angry at Matt right now...Jerry Jones is incapable of embarrassment. He is the biggest embarrassment we have and it doesn’t even resister with him. He’s isolated, delusional and doesn’t place winning above all else.
At 83, JJ is the oldest GM in NFL history. He was 53 the last time our Cowboys won a divisional playoff game. That’s embarrassing. But apparently not embarrassing to the 83 year old in charge.
The problem is that the same people who overpaid the spare are going to be picking the guy to replace him. That’s their mistake . That doesn’t mean you don’t try and upgrade the position
There were more than that. The Minnesota game was Embarrassing, Jerry!
