It's not the end of the world mathematically if we lose this game, but this is as big a game as we've had yet this season. Certainly the biggest since the PHI game last month.

And for no other reason than avoiding the cacophony alone, I dearly want to sweep the Giants. I can't imagine this place around here next week if we drop this one. Beating them makes the December push look a lot more interesting and will make CZ a lot more fun than another road loss, this time to a division opponent would.

It certainly does have the feel of a playoff game, albeit a playoff game for the mediocre. But I'm going to enjoy it as such, given the implications (and the fact that it might be our only playoff type-game if we lose). I think if we DO win, you can stick a fork in the Giants because they'd be done. And that would make me happy. If we throw another pathetic performance out there like we did against the Saints, you can stick a fork in me, because I might be done for the season out of sheer disgust.

Actually, a team playing with confidence IS better than that same team whose confidence has been shaken. You trust your teammates more to do their jobs and can therefore focus solely on your job. I've played on both types of teams and it's hard to put a finger on it, but a confident team plays with far more cohesiveness. And they're probably in a much better place mentally, knowing they're only one game out of the division lead. They are going to be hell bent on not wasting all the effort they've put in over the last four weeks to get back into this thing. There really is something to be said for that thing called "momentum."
I understand and agree with you to an extent, but lets not get these giants confused with the giants of the past. This is a very beatable team when playing at their full potential.

Agreed. Just not sure if we're the team to do it given that performance last week. We'll see. As others have said, I don't have a read on this game at all.

Marshall Faulk said " when Eli gets hot like he is right now , the giants are scary " lololololol this guy never does his homework .

12 touchdowns and 17 ints is hot? Yeah, Faulk is an idiot. Eli is having his worst season ever and his team is playing horribly too. They beat up on 4 weak teams with scrubby QB's. We are going to handle the Giants on Sunday.

Last year after losing 34-3 at the end of the season they said they only play great when their backs are against the wall . The very next week they needed to win and lost 38-0 . These guys talk a lot of stupidity .

they had better be focused...losing this game would be REALLY bad....a game behind the eagles and tied with the formerly 0-6 giants?

Especially with a road games at Chicago and Washington and a home game with the Packers (of course Rogers will be back to play us).

That week 17 game against the Eagles may not even matter, Eagles might clinch the division before that if we go on a losing streak.

The giants are playing at home. And they seem very hyped up about this game. OTOH, we seem a little disinterested/distracted. That's just the feeling I get.

I think we're gonna lose. 31-24. We make it look respectable at the end but we never really have a chance to win it.

This is a pivotal game for both teams. A must-win for sure for the Giants, they lose, they are probably done. Not so much for the Cowboys, however a loss for you will not fare well. You'll lose your edge because both teams will be tied for 2nd in the NFC east, formerly the toughest division, now the most hopeless. The game is up for grabs, anyone can win, but ....... things are different now. Dallas won the first game by 5 points, and you needed six (6) count em, six turnovers. Giants D is a different team now. Tuck and JPP aren't where they were in previous years, but much better than 11 weeks ago. Jon Beason has brought a much needed presence in the LB corps, and it's obvious that the Giants run game has much improved. These are pure facts.

Eli isn't turning the ball over as he used to, and Marshall Faulk is right, when he is hot, he's on, as most QB's are. So, you will be facing a different front seven, and a much more confident QB.

And the most important factor is hunger! They know they must win.

This is going to probably be the game of the week.
Good luck!

I live in NY and I can tell you this - Giants fans have no respect for the Dallas coaches, but acknowledge we have the players. They are not at all fearful of losing this week - they are very confident in general. (from what I've seen)..

At least both groups of fans agree on something....................the Dallas coaching staff sucks.

Yeah, a four game winning streak can do that. When is the last time the Cowboys have had a four-game winning streak? Of course, I could also ask when is the last time the Cowboys have had a six-game losing streak like the Giants also had at the start of the season.

The Dallas defense is so bad that the Giants probably will score enough to win. BUT...the Giants have been awful this season. They have not played a good game yet this year and they face Romo this week. Not Freeman. Not Barkley. Not a gimpy Pryor and Not Tolzien. They haven't played a good QB yet during this winning streak. It makes me think if Tony can play well and limit mistakes that the offense can outscore the Giants and win this one and close out the Giants. Garrett and Callahan have to know with the offense at full strength that they have to open it up the rest of the year to win. If they dont then they should both be shown the door in the New Year. I'm down on this Dallas team because of the coaching but the Giants are a bad team this year. The Cowboys have at least had some moments. The D will get a couple of turnovers off Eli. The offense just has to cash them in for once. I shouldn't feel confident but as we get closer to the game it is gaining on me. The Giants don't really bother me except for loudmouths like Jacobs and Tuck who are both about to be put out to pasture. But that's enough to want to send them packing for 2013.

At the beginning of the season, I don't think too many people circled this as a win.
But because they didn't win at either SanDiego or at Detroit, the team is really getting backed into a corner. A win would be huge.

We have one road win all year and even that would have been a loss if Foles was not throwing worm burners to invisible gophers.

Dallas has not been favored on the road yet...unless it was at KC before anyone had clue.

I have watched the Giants closely this year and they have a horrific team. Only player who is playing good on their team is Cruz and even he is having an off year. We are head and shoulders better than them and there is no reason we shouldn't go in there and beat them. I feel confident about this game.

Not sure Dallas is head and shoulders above any team in the league this year. Maybe a hair.

If the boys go up there to NJ and stink it up , I think we can give up on the season , wait for a change of coaching or system change , hopefully.

the better I feel about our chances. We are not as good as the team that beat the Rams, and not as bad of a team that got spanked by the Saints. As the week goes on, I get a feeling that we will come out and play inspired football. Awful quiet at the ranch, and I like that.

I too am glad they are staying quiet. More often than not trash-talking is counter-productive.
