Looking back on my predictions based upon the body of evidence indicates that I called it pretty close.

1) I watched the Phily game with Wentz and of course the cowboys game with Dak. All of the information on how a Rookie QB would do in his first game was proved true. Wentz is by far a better QB than Dak with accuracy and reading the defenses and adjusting. However, the point I am making here is that that a Rookie with a great defense stands a better chance of winning than one with an average defense (proof Phily game vs Cowboy game).

2) Defensive tackles rule the center of the defense and make the DE look good. This was not the case with the Dallas defense. The Giants run through our middle as if there was NO defense at all. If the Cowboys are going to make noise this year then the staff needs to fix this ASAP. That was also evident that no pass rush means no win.

3) The running team of Morris and Zeke was poor and Morris was not the problem. Zeke needs more work on getting through the line when those small holes open up. He look like a Rookie and Morris looked far more polished.

4) Free is the reason that our QBs are getting killed. If the team is going to make a move that will go a long way in improving the offense then this one change will accomplish a lot.

5) I predicted a 24-21 win for the Giants and was close to the 20-19 results. I also predict a loss to the Commanders in week2 then two wins. After watching this weekend’s games I am still holding my predictions. Dak goes 2-2 for the first four games.

Doug Free is the weak link of the offensive line. His run blocking is good enough but pass rushers with adequate speed and strength can overcome his pass blocking consistently enough.

Free can usually fend off a straight line bull rush but his lack of lateral mobility doesn't allow him to get his hands solidly on a defender penetrating either of his shoulders. When that happens, Free is like a matador at a bullfight and the defender is the bull. "OLE!"

But wait....I was told Cedric Thornton was a stud. Heard it right here. Even though my eyes told me he was garbage. Everyone said we would be fine in the middle of our D.

Not making excuses for Free because he is the weakest link on the line, but JPP is not your usual RDE.

I also thought Collins had a poor game yesterday, his holding penalties where caused by him getting beat.

I see the same thing. We all do. So why not go ahead and replace my pet cat with Chaz Green? Why not try it to see what it amounts to? Chaz showed enough in the preseason to warrant that opportunity. Just thinking out loud.

AND this thought is not just a reaction to yesterday. It has been building.

Your right...

Doug Free can't block a guy that is playing w/ one freaking hand....let that sink in.

JPP is a freak and the loss of 2 fingers does not change his athletic ability. By the end of the year he will be one of the best LDE in the league

No overreactions here... Dak played extremely well for a rookie and the defensive looks
he was presented with. His WR's could have helped him out much better I think and Dez
just didn't play like Dez. Zeke is a rookie and should be treated as such. Right now, I think
there is a better RB backing up Zeke who should be getting many more carries. We knew the DL
would be a work in progress for the first 4 games and they were. Our investment in a certain
Crawford sure hasn't panned out for us has it? McClain is by far the best news on the DT
front and he played the best from my vantage point. I think the defense will get better this year
and they need too, pronto. We will win some games guys, we will also lose some close ones as
Dak is not Romo and has to learn how to win a close game in the 4th quarter. The Cowboys
have started to make the transition to a new QB era and I love Witten to death but, his lack
of speed will mean this is likely his last year as a Cowboy. Calm down as there are some
green shoots on the horizon.

Wentz played the Browns.....your wrong....nuff said

I missed when the Browns were demoted from the NFL.

Fact is, as bad as the Browns are, Wentz looked very good in his first start ever (and had only like 35 snaps total in the preseason). You couldn't ask for a better start for a rookie QB on a team that, frankly, doesn't have a lot of weapons.

Definitely not Witten last year as a Cowboys. I can't judge Crawford until there is a pass rush again. With our defensive ends coming back Demarcus Lawrence will command the Doble teams..not Crawford.

Know what I seen of Chaz Green thus far? Not a whole lot in my opinion. He needs more work. His strength level is woeful right now. I haven't given up on Green but he must improve his overall technique before he supplants anyone on the offensive line permanently--anyone including Free. But this is just my old high school offensive lineman mentally talking so take it with a grain of salt.

Right! Especially given enough who the Eagles played. The level of overreaction to our game and the Eagles game is astounding. I should have known better than to break my "don't go to CZ until Weds" rule.

Except many of the same people who are preaching patience were saying this last week - Giants D is garbage even with all their money spent, Dak is a legit QB prospect who will light the Giants up with the talent he has on offense, that Elliott is going to run wild all over them, etc. And when other people suggested that maybe they should slow their roll, they got laughed at as being negative ninnies.

So apparently, overreactions BEFORE a game where people predict domination and pain are OK but overreactions AFTER a game when we look largely inept............ well, we can't have that.
