Better players on the board in King and the DT from MSU (cant remember his name at the moment)

Also-- Watt is more raw but looks more like a natural RDE to me. Taco looks slow and reminds me of Greg Ellis.

Guess you can do worse than an 8-10 sack steady DE though... welcome aboard Taco! Work hard and do everything Rod tells you and you can be alright

Malik McDowell is who you are thinking of.

I thought he would be okay at 28, but I think he's a riskier pick because of his immaturity.

This round shook out well for us, I thought. we had our pick of several quality defensive players and I'm confident we stuck with our board.

That's all I can ask for. The FO has earned my trust for the 1st round

I'd rather have had McKinley, but Taco is interesting.

I'm okay with it.

I hope McDowell is our next pick.

Yeah I'm happy we finally invested in a prototypical 43 End. He's extremely well rounded and should never come off the field. Plus he offers a good deal of upside.

Not sure why anyone would be upset with it. With him and Irving we have a pair of long, athletic bookends

Think about this in the future:
  • RDE - Taco @ 6'6", 270
  • LDE - Irving @ 6'7", 280
Like the good old days of BIG, play-making DE's that are true 3-Down players.

The issue is he and Irving are same guy. Was listening to Sturm earlier and agree with him. He likes the guy but his bend for his size is strong side and not weak so you have two guys that aren't exactly switchable side to side

This is the beauty about this pick. That ^ is his floor. What is his ceiling?

Does anyone have a link to his interview? Hearing it was really good but I can't find it.

Taco at RDE would get neutralized quickly by good LT. Has almost no burst. His position is LDE and Irving will move inside to DT is likely. Team is still in search of RDE. Maybe they can get someone after June 1st cuts but I don't see teams letting those guys go. Might be time to call Ware. I know he just retired last week but things just got serious.

Your so far off it's not even funny and I usually tend to agree with you. Don't be lazy and just go off of the height thing. See what this guy has to say cause he is correct.

I've watched him quite a bit before we ever drafted him. David Irving and Taco are virtually the same player.
