Ya, there ya go putting it together like that,, now my belly really hurts.I'm counting about three defensive linemen we could have signed for roughly the same as Crawford alone is costing us:
Andrew Billings - $3.5
Shelby Harris - $3.25
Derek Wolfe - $3.0
Total for 2020 $9.75
I'll go with the Joneses, who have overvalued this player for years.
man I hope the plan isn't to count on Tristan Hill. My guess is we will be drafting a DT.
preaching to the choir my friend.I am pulling for him..but don't put any stock into him being here. I think its up to Hill to show he belongs here.Count on him for what? To possibly be a rotational player at DT? I'm sure they are. He's in his second year coming out of a smaller school where he didn't get as much snaps as he needed to develop.
I'm pretty sure our planned DT rotation is McCoy, Poe, Woods and Hill, with Crawford getting some snaps there on passing downs. I don't think we would pass on adding one who fell to us in the draft, but I don't think we'll be pushing hard to get one.

Possibly. It would seem logical, but considering the DTs we brought in (especially Poe, who would be indicative of a change of priorities), I can't see McCarthy's staff agreeing to keeping him if they didn't think he had any value. Now, it may be a little like Bill Parcells with Quincy Carter, where Parcells was willing to kick the tires before throwing him to the curb. If the Joneses strongly vouched for Crawford, then McCarthy/Nolan might be taking a wait-and-see approach.
I highly doubt, though, if they saw no value in a player making that much that they would be on board with keeping him, especially since they could get some players they like with that money instead.
Another possibility is that the Joneses are still firmly in control of the cap situation. And actions thus far would support that. McCarthy and his new staff may make proposals for acquisition to the GM, and then it is up to that GM (or group) to acquire the requested talent at an agreeable cost or not. But, the new staff has thus far not mandated any players currently under contract who would be removed from the roster. McCarthy may have the authority to request that players be kept or added, but not the authority to remove players currently under contract. In other words, this could very likely be the Jones boys keeping someone that they like and the coached agreeing to work with that. Crawford hasn't been healthy enough or even around enough to have established a relationship with the new coaching staff, and his recent work certainly hasn't helped his cause.
Cowboys?
Maybe they are taking both to really screw us.I didn't know where to put this, but it appears that the Seahawks are freeing up cap space for a move. I would guess that it will be for a pass rusher and my first guess would be a deal for Clowney (one year or otherwise) or secondly, a deal for Everson Griffen (who I think played for Pete Carroll at USC).
Or I could be completely off.
Cowboys?
Dude is looking for Chaz green on the schedule
