101.2 QB rating for the month of December. Dec. happens to be Romo's most productive month. IN the last two Decembers Romo has 20 TD's and only 4 INT's.

5 - that would be FIVE - 4th quarter comebacks. More than any other NFL QB.

Since the start of 2011 Romo has 24 TD's and only 6 INT's in the 4th quarter. Not a bad ratio for a choker. :lmao2:

162 points scored in the 4th quarter - more than any other team and the 5th highest in NFL history.

Some other numbers to consider:

The team was -11 in TO ratio.

195 pressures given up by the team - that would be OL - Romo sacked 36 times.

3.6 yds per carry for the running game. that would rank the Cowboys running game at 31st in the NFL.

So, in a team game, with no running game and horrible pass protection Romo HAD to carry the team on his back with his clutch performances.

Some may argue that Romo isnt elite, but nobody can say he isnt clutch. And to be that clutch one has to be pretty elite!

People who understand football know that he is a very good QB who has proven to be clutch many times throughout his career. Those who do not know the game think he sucks and is a choker.

Annnnd here we go again.

When is our first game?

I would prefer that we do not have to come back in the 4th quarter this season.

Wrong. Almost everyone knows he is a very good QB and has come through many times in the 4th quarter. That's not the issue. The issue is consistency. Thus far in his career he has had several poor performances with the season on the line. Many have labeled them as choking but whatever you call it and no matter what any numbers say, he has not gotten it done when it matters most. He has been inconsistent at best in big games with the season on the line. At this point, the continued argument is silly because after getting a new contract, he is the QB for the next 3-5 years no matter what and one side will be proven right by what he does on the field from here on out.

Where was that when the playoffs were on the line? Why couldn't he carry the team then?

Nice thread, but this is like politics - you can't convince people who don't want to be convinced.

Romo haters will continue to type away at their keyboard, while Romo himself continues to earn millions of dollars per year in his contract, far more than the haters will ever make.

There are those who believe in Romo and those who don't and this will not change until or unless this team goes all the way.

I think it is ridicules to pin it on 1 man in the ultimate team sports but for some it is all about the QB and you will not change their minds

It is the way it was for Meredith and White, and it will be this way for Romo

You mean like how he carried the team the previous 4-5 games? Gee, some unrealistic expectations we got here ... The guy carried us to 5 wins in 6 weeks with an injury decimated team then has one bad game, then you want to pounce all over him.

Also you asked, "Where was that when the playoffs were on the line?". Well, all the way through week 9 our record was 3-5, I don't know about you but to me our playoff hopes were on the line with that record. That's when we strung off 5 wins out of 6 weeks due to our 'choker' of a QB. Ohh yahh, and did I mention our playoff hopes were on the line when our 'choker' of a QB had this remarkable stretch of play? So I don't really understand where you're coming from with the "Where was that when the playoffs were on the line?" comment, try again perhaps?

You're going to have to see him lining up under center to start games for the Cowboys, like it or not.

Do we really need to rehash this thread every other day?

He carried us for 4 or 5 games? Ok, same team that he choked with isn't it?

Romo is a good QB, has great moments and great games but he also comes up short at times. THAT is what keeps him from being considered elite by a lot of fans.

Yeah, it's a team game, but Romo isn't separated from the team, he wins and loses with the same team, sometimes his fault and sometimes it is a joint failure.

This is the only post you need to read.

Romo is a good QB. He's come through in the 4th quarter many times... but if we're being honest, those typically come against bad teams to mediocre teams. Outside of Indy and NY in 2006, Romo's only had strong 4th quarter comebacks against Philly in 2009 and SF in 2011.

And when more is on the line for Romo and the Cowboys, Romo typically folds.

Romo's ability to bring the team back is as good as anyone who has ever played. No QB can be counted on to win games in comeback style all the time. None have ever done it all the time. It just doesnt happen.

Romo stunk it up against the Skins and didnt help his media created legacy in that regard. However, an objective person will see the circumstances in which he played.
