A lot of bad ideas in this thread.

There really isn't anyone out there that is going to be better prepared than Weeden. We are going to live and die with him until Romo is back,.

The idea of bringing in a Tebow and running the spread is a ridiculous idea. You don't change your entire system to an offense that doesn't even suit the other 10 guys on your team.

If you are looking for a replacement, it probably needs to be a guy that has played with Linnehan...so Stanton might be the type you would get. We already have Kellen Moore who has been in his system and is a student of the game. Moore is very much like a Colt McCoy, is supposed to be exceptionally smart in regard to offensive schemes and while possibly not having an NFL caliber arm might be able to manage a game...not unlike a Jason Garrett back in the day.

The positive is that Weeden has worked a lot with the #2 receivers and has got extra time working with the ones on Wednesdays. He can be a good play action passer.....need to pound the rock, cut down on penalties and run a safer offense.

Finally, the idea we should shut down Romo and Bryant because they might not be ready for 10 weeks is really dumb. You play them when they are healthy. Period. If we are 2-8 after 10 weeks we can shut them down but it makes no sense to even consider that when they could be ready in 6 weeks.

Give Vinny Testaverde a ring. He's familiar with the offense!

I am thinking that Dallas rolls with Weeden for a game or two. If it is apparent that he can't do it, then expect someone else to step in. Just saying that he will get his chance to sink or swim.

It would likely take 8-10 weeks to get an outside QB to come in and get remotely comfortable with our offense. By then, Romo will possibly be able to return. As undesirable as most of us might consider Weeden to be, he's the best bet we have at this time to be a "bus driver" and generate anything sufficient to be competitive.

It isn't feasible to bring in a QB who is totally unfamiliar with our system and prepare him quickly enough to help. Perhaps a QB like PS guy Kellen Moore, who is familiar with Linehan's offense might get a timely indoctrination but even that leaves some room for doubt. Hopefully, Weeden is better prepared than he was at this time last year.

We'll be depending heavily upon our ground game to generate drives capable of being consistent. I think it may become workable for C-Mike to be activated in hopes of getting the extra push needed to mount a dependable ground attack -- one capable of carrying the brunt of the load to sustain drives and permit Weeden to contribute occasionally as a passer. I don't really see him as being consistent enough to rely heavily upon, though. Maybe he'll surprise us all but it seems to me that such a prospect might be a bit more wishful than likely. We'll see.

Kellen can run once the pocket or pressure begins

Not overly confident in Weeden, as I was one of his biggest supporters...... Just don't like his fixation on receivers

We shall see..... That is the given

On the phone with jerry
They aren't trading for a QB
But a guy like Cassel would be a good fit
Unfortunately signing a QB means cutting another player

Depending on Romo's diagnosis tomorrow, he may be a good candidate for IR-return option.

Honestly if Weeden is not at least competent it's an organizational failure, everyone knew this could happen with Tony and we needed someone who could keep us afloat. There were guys available who fit that label, but we stuck with Weeden. Even though there's no Dez, he better look a lot better than he did last year.

Relax....people

The QB we need is already here......Kellen Moore. People are gonna be shocked when this kid leads the way......

Leads the way on the bench. Only way he starts is if Weeden is injured.
