The will Bring Moore up today. Tony goes on Short Term IR. Wish we could take Weedens arm and put it on Moore's Body. I think you could have Romo lite. Moore is sort of a Chad Pennington type. Good brain, noodle arm. Hell, since we don't have Dez, we aren't going to stretch the field anyway so Moore might be a good fit if Weeden sucks (which I think he will). This could be a low risk offense with a better defense then we have had for a long long time.

Fran Tarkenton had a noodle arm. Everything he threw looked like a wounded duck. Still, he was one of the greats

We could trade for a QB although I believe they will give Kellen Moore a shot and bring him up from the practice squad since he is familiar with Linehan and the offense. Any QB they trade for is going to be a backup to Weeden for likely 3 or 4 weeks while getting up to speed with the offense so Moore makes better sense and if frankly probably as good as anyone on the posts I have read. Now RGIII being available might, just might, be worth a draft pick but definitely not a first and not if he won't redo his contract for the 5th year that is guaranteed for $16 million.

Would this be a possibility?

Played alright for Buffalo last year.

Orton absolutely torched the bridge here before he left.

Whoever Dallas brings in, it'll be to back up Weeden.

Cullen........or why not Tebow ?

We'd have to change the offense but honestly I don't think bringing in Tebow is too bad of an idea.

Spread teams out and put Tebow and McFadden in the backfield and run that read option.

Just gather as many points as possible in that system.

It's not a bad idea imo.

he has fizzled out really bad. what makes him better than weeden (although I don't have a world of confidence in weeden).

is it grass on the otherside is greener syndrome?

I think Flynn is a solid option for a backup QB.

Career 86 QB rating. 61% completion percentage. 17 TDs vs 11 Interceptions over his career as a backup.

Weeden is a career 56% completion guy. Without Dez, the Cowboys will need to operate as a high efficiency dink-and-dunk offense. I just don't see Weeden as ideally suited to that.

Having said all that, Flynn was just a random idea. He isn't currently on a team so it was cost zero to bring him in.

Was jealous of Vikings / Heinicke in preseason since they got him as UDFA (and wooed him with a 20K signing bonus plus some kind of guarantee I think on a 3-year contract ..)

Quote from the Old Dominion coach Wilder: ""Norv Turner likes quarterbacks who can process information quickly. That's what Taylor does best."

But looking at their preseason stats, the Vikings other two backup QBs also had ratings of like 85 or 90, kind of indicates Norv Turner maybe scheming some - cause for sure those QBs aren't such great shakes. .. Heinicke had a fantastic final preseason game (against the dregs) so they cut Mike Kafka. ... Heinicke said to be a noodle arm but it looked better at his pro day (funny how that happens. ..)

Still mad that we were enamored with Dustin Vaughn instead, and spent about all our UDFA bonus money on the WR Farmer instead of Heinicke, as a developmental QB anyway. Didn't Farmer get 55K I read guaranteed bonus?

But Heinicke is a pig in a poke, is he any good?

The draft picks I compute we have left if all the conditional trades we made go through and they play x number of games - and we get the projected 5th and 3 6th round compensatory picks - next year are a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (comp), 6 (from oakland for butler), 3 6ths compensatory, and no 7th. ... That's 1-2-3-4-5-6-6-6-6. ... The only picks next year we could trade right now look to be the 1-2-3-4th rounders.

I'm admittedly bias, graduating from ODU, but Heinicke was very good. We're not going to trade for anyone though. It's Weenden with Moore as the back-up until Romo returns, for better or worse.

It is a horrible idea. Can't believe you would think differently.

I think Orton left some significant bad blood, and besides he seemed pretty satisfied to retire. Don't see that happening.

Not seeing Matt Cassel's name, but he was one of the Bills' last cuts, and from what I've read, it was mainly a money issue that made the decision for them.

I have to think that, as long as you're legitimately in the race for the playoffs, you're going to do all you can to have an experienced QB back there.
