Moderators if this does not go here please move..

I think we are going to trade for a QB since our Romo window is closing and we may or may not have Weeden after this year.. and here is who i think they should target.

In no order:

Colt McCoy, Commanders
Matt Barkley, Cardinals
Drew Stanton, Cardinals
Taylor Heinicke, Vikings
Mike Glenon, Bucs
Zack Mettenberger, Titians
Case Keenum, Rams

Currently we have given out our 5, 6, and 7th round pics in other trades, so its going to take a 4th and i don't know which of the above warrant that. Me if i was GM it would be Mettenberger..

I think we just bring up Moore since we have two QBs on the practice squad. He's familiar with Linehan's scheme so he should be able to just plug in as the backup.

Absolutely love Glennon in a Trade, he's a NFL starter waiting to happen and could be our future, doubt Tampa Bat would let him go cheaply.

Wish we knew more about Moore, Ponder a Free Agent.

RGHEYKNEE for a long-term backup.

Showers is the sleeper and might be the next Romo if he can learn to handle an NFL Playbook and improve his accuracy like Tony did.

Moore.

The guy has been in the NFL for 4 years.

The guy has attempted over 200 passes in preseason games with an overall QB rating of over 80.

In addition the offensive coordinator knows his body of work.

No, it has to be Bailey because he is tough...

I'd have to project Moore at this point, but with the burn to churn now, I really don't know.

Not seeing Matt Cassel's name, but he was one of the Bills' last cuts, and from what I've read, it was mainly a money issue that made the decision for them.
.

you sure about this? I thought I saw him on the sideline as the backup in Buffalo yesterday. EJ Manuel was inactive.

I have a man crush on tyler thigpen as a back up. My other choice would probably be jason campbell.

I certainly dont want Josh Freeman, Matt Flynn, Christian Ponder.

TJ Yates?

I think Flynn is a solid option for a backup QB.

Career 86 QB rating. 61% completion percentage. 17 TDs vs 11 Interceptions over his career as a backup.

Weeden is a career 56% completion guy. Without Dez, the Cowboys will need to operate as a high efficiency dink-and-dunk offense. I just don't see Weeden as ideally suited to that.

Having said all that, Flynn was just a random idea. He isn't currently on a team so it was cost zero to bring him in.

I think Flynn was really bad at the end. he had one shining season with GB and then fizzled really fast. weeden isn't all that, but he also played in Cleveland. he is also a career back up.

but as a back up to weeden. yeah, we need someone. so is kellen moore that much worse than Flynn.

So, anyone think we should go QB in next year's draft?

Don't you think it depends on who's available and when...like always?

But yes, if the value is right and there actually is a player there that we like in that particular round, sure.

I'd have taken Mettenberger last year, for that matter.

Exactly. He or T.J. Yates are without teams. They are all comparable guys. Why trade for one of them when there are few options available without a trade.

Why sign a guy that nobody else thought was any good to sign.

Well Weeden has won as many Super Bowls as Romo, give the guys a chance. He might be a year better here.He looked younger and healthier than Romo with an arm that Romo cannot come close too.
