The OL problem - is it the players or OL coach.

I am just wondering what all of you think. Is the problem with why our OL is so horrible cuz we just do not have any talent or is it that our OL coach is just not any good.

I really am not sure but right now I would have to say it is both.

I can not put the blame on the coaches.

We have a young rookie drafted in the late rounds at one tackle, and a Pro-Bowl LT down and out replaced by Tucker who we all know is not a starting NFL caliber LT.

That is hard for any coach to overcome. You have to have the players.

Now I give Tucker and Pettiti credit for hanging in there the best they can, and they both are giving a lot of effort, but we are undermaned.

Take our Line for what it is. A converted defensive lineman starting at LT, the most important position on the line. A rookie, drafted in the 6th round at RT. That right there should give you a better idea of what is going on. Pettiti does ok, and in all honesty, he probably shouldn't be starting just yet. Tucker has done OK. But when you have to help out both the Tackles, you're in a bit of trouble. We havent had a dominant line for a while though, and it has to be adressed this offseason.

I think it's Mike Zimmer's fault. The OL heard he was stumping for TO and was in favor of bringing back Quincy Morgan.

Tucker didn't play DL. He was a Guard.

Tuinei was the converted DL.

The OLINE is killing us dogg. Our success rides on them. Our D is outstanding and can win games for us but the OLINE tells the story. Without them performing well, RB's can't run and Blesoe can't throw which means we can't control the ball or score. They have to play better....

Matt Lehr, who was considered a scrub during his time in Dallas, is now starting in Atlanta and heralded by most this year as a possible Pro Bowler.

The coaches definitely have to shoulder some blame. It doesn't seem like BP's boy Sparano is cut out for this job at all.

It's 50/50..I don't think the coaches are any good, but Torrin Tucker and Rob Pettiti are not NFL caliber starters either, and having that at your tackle spots is asking for trouble.

Wish we had Hudson Houck back. He was the best OL coach we've ever had..

That is what I suggested a few days back but that thread wasnt too popular. If I posted that last nite or this morning I would have gotten some responses.

He's a excellent coach. His OL's aways play well. He's still in the league but I don't know where...

Oops. No, we had someone recently who was a converted College DT or something. I could have sworn it was Tucker.

no, it's Zimmer's fault because he isnt' letting Parcells in on the secret that you can plug Shanle anywhere on your squad, and you'll win games
